Crazy that a decent sized contingent of people are willing to just part ways with Heinen. So you guys want to fill one hole while creating another?

should be prospects/picks and if you need salary going back add Moore or Kevan Miller to the deal.

A 3rd line hole is much easier to fill with the abundance of prospects this team has.

Heinen is VERY replaceable.

I said it when he was traded to Carolina, I think we missed a big opportunity when Haula was traded. Now there are rumbles he is unhappy and potentially available. He is a rental but might be willing to re-sign.

I’m all for filling that 2nd line RW stop with a legit top 5 forward, I’m just in the camp that thinks it should be done using draft picks/prospects/ one of Moore or Miller if we need to move salary.

we certainly don’t have someone in house that has been capable of producing the .42 ppg he’s at this year as well as near his defensive capabilities that has led him to being first in the nhl in GA/60 since he joined the league in 2017.

FWIW cap friendly has the bruins at a deadline cap space of $4.62m. For those of you wondering how much we current have to work with.

Ish. It’s LTIR space

If Miller comes back things get real wonky real fast.

I don’t see them trading Kevan Miller. They may not re-sign him, but I don’t see him being moved. RHD, vet, gritty. I get the sense he is very tight w the core guys.

John Moore I can see. I don’t abhor his contract like so many, but I don’t think he’s bringing back anything; the value is the cap space it creates and, agree, Lauzon or other can do what he does. I wonder if Winnipeg would have interest w all their D changes they’ve had in the last year; could he return a more impactful bottom 6 player like Andrew Copp? Just spit-balling.

I’m good moving Miller AND Moore. Clifton Gryzlek 3rd pairing, Kampfer & Lauzon your 7 & 8 dmen.

Tight with the core or not, Miller just can’t stay healthy long enough to warrant keeping him on this roster. I have zero issues moving him for a 3rd or 4th.

I love his toughness but how tough can you be from the 9th floor?

Thoughts on JT Miller in Vancouver?

Close to same age as Kreider. Averages 22 goals per season (Kreider averages 24), signed for 3 more seasons after this one at 5.25m.

I only mention because I’ve read comments about acquiring and signing Kreider here. I assume Kreider will seek Kevin Hayes money (7m+). If so, would it be wiser to acquire someone like JT Miller?

Why does Vancouver move him?

I think at present Miller has negative value so why trade him . UFA this summer and has not played a game in a year. Just keep him as an extra if the Cap allows. Why would any team be interested in him at present?

Kreider might be the target but gorton no way will back off from a first round pick. He got that for Rick nash and he will surely get for kreider . Donny probably won't budge on that.
Once burned..........twice schmart. I would hope Sweeney would not repeat that error in judgement.

A second rounder, plus other assets, is all I’d offer for Kreider, the second becoming a first only if Kreider is signed after the season. Kreider is a free agent to be who can be signed without surrendering draft pics or prospects.

If Gorton is not swayed, and the Rangers’ situation at the TD hasn’t changed, I’d settle for Toffoli. It would be a lesser buy and, at season’s end, can be let go in favor of signing Kreider for a long term contract.
