Vally features in the pregame how Laffy should have 7 more goals this season and then he goes out and rings the post a minute in and gets robbed on the PP

Give the kid a red light wouldja?

I'm not overreacting to Laf. I'm impressed with the kid but he won't reach where he should if he can't score in a whore house. I'm rooting for him.

I get the frustration but general wisdom suggests that if a guy keeps on getting quality chances, they'll start to go in.

Example: Matt Tkachuk had like 6 goals until this week. He now has 11.

The way he improved this year I'm confident he'll work on his shot next offseason and become a solidly top line player. Even if his stats won't be flashy due to not getting top PP time.

We're past general wisdom and statistical logic. This team can't shoot the puck. Is Laf's shooting as good as Tkachuk's? Apples to oranges. He needs to work on his shooting, that's the point. A bunch of Rangers can't elevate the puck or locate their shots

They're 13th in team shooting percentage. They've been getting goalied to hell so I'd venture to guess they were easily top 10 before the last 5 games.

Tkachuk is shooting at 7.6% this year even after his recent hot streak (career 12.7 shooter.) Laf is shooting at 9.8 (career 13.7 shooter.)

These things matter lol.

Laf rarely scores on a straight up shot. He's good around the net though.

he should be getting it NOW. He's been our 3rd best player this season and his skillset is more suited to the PP than Trocheck, as good as Vincenzo has been
I'd put him in over Zibanejad at this point. Put Panarin on the left side where he's been good in the past (and he has a decent one-timer too, and Laf at the right circle.

Let Zibanejad play PP2, plus they need a center who can win draws anyway.

Being at the game yesterday I was able to watch Laf when OFF the puck as normally the telecast is focused in tight on the carrier. Suffice to say he's got smarts and was always looking to create space and chances. Very bloody happy with him the last few months and was a detractor a while back - not any more. If you heard an Aussie voice yelling "Now who's laffing" after his goal, that was me!
