I forgot that hockey fans are the only people who won’t associate “3rd period” with high school.I don't even know what this means.

I think simply “It’s the NHL” is sufficient anyway.

Im sure most people got the reference lolI forgot that hockey fans are the only people who won’t associate “3rd period” with high school.

. The problem is that our fans don’t have patience. I don’t think they realize how much covid effected a lot of young players development. Plus unlike other teams the rangers had a pretty much set top 6 in his rookie year so now he is getting the opportunity in his second year and showing fans that a tiny bit of patience will lead to gratificationMaking me eat crow, he’s coming along faster than I expected after being promoted to the top six
.
Crazy what happens when you put your 1st overall in a position to succeed and play him a lot with good players. Gallant should've never taken him off the top line at the start of the season because they were good then too. The main difference is that they stopped shooting 4% as a line and started getting bounces to go their way.Making me eat crow, he’s coming along faster than I expected after being promoted to the top six.
He finally has chemistry with his line. Being stuck on the third line never helped. I said since day 1, he needed to be developed on the first line since the jump and let him grow through his pains. Now we're seeing what he's capable of.Laf right now looks like he’s starting to take a little more control
he still occasionally makes the boneheaded play but he’s 20. I’m excited for the next few years as he continues to grow

It's still funny how the kid can't manage to buy an assist at 5v5 or on the powerplay, but they'll come if. he keeps playing at this pace
……..this post kinda sucksDo we use buzz phrases like "on pace" to cherry pick and justify a player's overall weak performance with spurts of okay performance for 12% of the season to players performing at said pace for the entirety of the season?
He's 20 and his career spans 110 games. Of course if we're looking for trends, we're going to need to look at smaller samples.Do we use buzz phrases like "on pace" to cherry pick and justify a player's overall weak performance with spurts of okay performance for 12% of the season to players performing at said pace for the entirety of the season?
It reminds me of all the "on pace" main board posts about such and such player on pace for such and such, and it ages well because that player then suddenly stops performing at said pace. Lol.
This is living proof that the "HE'S GOTTA EARN IT APPROACH!" is flawed when you're talking about high draft pick, high potential players like Lafreniere.
Lafreniere was only given this opportunity out of sheer necessity. Gallant's hand was forced into doing two things he never would have done otherwise:
1. Shift Lafreniere from his natural position to RW;
2. Give Lafreniere big minutes with top players but also against top competition.
Neither of these things happen if Gallant had literally any other viable option available.
We need to start making smart decisions not just out of necessity and desperation but because they are smart decisions.
Kakko should be getting 18+ minutes a night when he comes back and that should continue indefinitely, regardless of results. These kids are the future. They are more important than any individual game result. Stop with this Hunt nonsense. If Panarin and Strome have a problem with it then bash their heads together like Moe and tell them to deal with it.
Not totally wrong buuuuutDo we use buzz phrases like "on pace" to cherry pick and justify a player's overall weak performance with spurts of okay performance for 12% of the season to players performing at said pace for the entirety of the season?

Looking at what he has done over the last 5, 10, 20 games and comparing it to the performances of notable players is just to provide context for his improved play. You're using subjective terms like "weak" and "okay" and other people are using quantifiable items.
