it didnt look like he was even passing. it looked to me like he was trying to take the defender on 1 on 1 and lost control of the puck.

He flubbed his pass by trying to do this weird hook pass thing, it came back to him, he bobbles and then there was a collision. Game. He had Chy streaking and every other Rangers player would've probably done a sauce pass since Chy had speed and was gone, but not our f***ing kid.

I still believe in Laf. You won't find any player who didn't hit a rough patch early in their career. He will push through it and be a better player because of it in the long run

I sure hope so as I’m sure we all do but it’s getting harder and harder to feel any confidence in saying it

Why do folks bring up value at this point? He is a lotto ticket at best, folks don’t pay much for lotto tickets.

Done feeling sorry for him. It's on him to decide how hard he's going to work on becoming an NHL player let alone a star (who are we kidding?). Kid doesn't seem to have any kind of fitness level or skating ability in his 3rd NHL season. It's not the trainers or the staff, it's him. He's a big loser right now.

He needs to get stronger, which is unfortunately going to take time. Look how much better Kakko looks now that he can’t be easily bumped off the puck.

I def echo the work ethic concerns for Laf as he does seem to gas too easily. The weak contract he’ll get this summer is hopefully a wake up call for him to get into serious shape. It’s one of the few explanations I can come up w/ between how he looks now vs last year’s POs.

I'm pretty done with Laf almost. At best this kid might be a low end 2nd liner. He's likely destined for a bottom 6 role for his career.
He should just become a pest at this point. Maybe he needs to change his game to stay in the NHL. This is a just a last chance for him in the NHL.

C’mon folks….he’s only getting 12 minutes a game….needs more, and should be on PP1 too. You all are wrong.
He needs to earn it not be given based on his 1st overall status.

we we're lucky to actually be up 3-1 after 2. if anything we probably should have been crushed 6-3. to even get to OT and manufacture a point frankly was astonishing. hughes 10 sog's holy shit.

actually it was a good thing that GG did send him out during the OT. it was a way for everybody to see what this kid is made of during a very most intense moment of the game. and to do that in today's was the perfect time during the middle of the season rather than in an actual playoff game. needless to say the result was real shit.

don't be surprised that GG may even give more OT chances. if we're not trading him then we'll have to ride with this and see what happens in the next 41 games. like it or not we need this guy.

the game is also a good wake up call for what needs to be worked on. whatever those things are GG has to figure that out.

Right? PP1! Ice Time!

He flat out sucks. Bad skater, bad passer, a decent shot that means zilch when you can't find open ice. Absolutely no motor either. It's getting to a point where he should be looking up to someone like Vesey who found a role after not producing at the NHL level.

I still think he'll become a good 50+ point player in a couple years. I don't know if he can do it here, though. It feels like this is just becoming a bit of a bad situation and he may need a fresh start. Problem is it seems unlikely we'd get enough value back to make it worthwhile.

Looking more and more like his ceiling is Ryan Callahan. Such a bummer.
