The skill and processing are coming along. If he stays on this line, we'll see his strongest games yet to finish out the season.

What isn't there yet is his stamina. You can see that he looks gassed early in the shift, and other shifts he's holding back. That might need an off-season to fix.

Kid needs to shoot the puck more often. 64 shots in 50 games isn't going to cut it.
he was primarily a playmaker, so low shooting numbers isnt terrible, but I think he's still trying to figure out how to get off clean shots. He took a couple that had real chances yesterday and were great looks.

The kid is starting to flash some skill. Still would like to see him put some real work in his skating though. Clearly the thing that is holding him back the most.

I mean it’s almost like the more ice time he gets the more he puts up good numbers

I maintain my statement that laf playing in shitty Ottawa or the wings he’d have more points then stutzle

Its likely not worrying about making mistakes which lets players actually figure out what they can get away with. Once they know the limits of what they can do, they start to play with the full limit of skills and the talent will show.

hes looked fantastic lately. he was ready to be put into the top 6, now hes part of the line and growing into it. he and mika look like they might really have something as a duo coming up ice, hes made some great plays to spring kreider..the potential is there to become one of the leagues truly elite lines. the rush plays its there, still work to be done creating offense inside the zone. and laf especially has been making some elite passes.....never seen a guy robbed of so many assists in a season. and then the shot tonight...kids a star
