He has 2 LW ahead of him playing better. It would be an easier conversation if/when Kreider cools down.
The initial line of Laffy Zibs Kreider needs to be tried again. He needs to be given a chance in the top6. He stuck with Kakko for so long with Panarin and Strome, he needs to give Laffy a much longer look

I thought he had a really good game today. He needs to be in the Top 6. Would love to see him back with Zibanejad and Kreider again, and move Kakko back with Panarin and Strome.

Was at the game. Laf looked great; winning battles, forcing turnovers. He was skating and making alot of good, subtle plays, like Kakko does every night. They are snake bitten; for now. Patience.

Agreed. I’m no professional but I’ve played left wing my entire life. I can NOT play the right side I just don’t feel comfortable there.

Kreider and Cuylle have both said they prefer LW. On the other hand, guys like Othmann, Berard and Pajuniemi have told me they are comfortable on either side because growing up they switched regularly.

It differs per player.

What’s so difficult about it? I’m primarily a center, but also like playing right wing (I’m a left shot so it’s better for one timers as I am more of a shoot first player). But I can play left wing or D at at least 85% of the level I play center at. I don’t think it’s that hard to switch positions at all

You're not playing in the NHL.

at this moment with the way the lines are constructed the kid has going to have to learn how to get his shots off and be a hog. slap away. i don't care if the puck keeps bouncing off goalie helmets or pads, or glove saved. it would be interesting to see during a 12 game span if gets 4-6 shots in say 3 or 4 of those games.

it's already been established that the only players he's had any consistency throughout his career up to now is fox and buchnevich. he also can't gel with anybody on this team.

i wonder how the front office will address the the quality issue(s) of that 3rd line. will they shop for a center and a rw? trade laffy?

i see you're in russia. question: how come in russia there's not many high quality centers being developed there? the people in charge of hockey developmental programs just say, "hey he's a prospect. just stick him at wing or d?"

Laf's biggest strength seems to be that he is an opportunistic scorer, frequently showing up in just the right place to score. That's a degree of hockey IQ that probably can't be taught. Sometimes I feel that he would be served best by playing with a center who could create "chaos" offensively: taking a lot of shots causing loose pucks and rebounds that he could pounce on. Not sure who that would be. I am also a bit concerned with other aspects of his game, he really has not shown any other dominant offensive skills, at least not yet. I can't really decide what kind of player he will be as he matures. He seems still to be struggling finding what works for him and how to maximize his skills. But, he is still young so no cause to panic.

At this level, Unless you can play left and right handed ambidextrous-ly, you will play left or right differently. Some skill sets lend themselves more to both sides, guys that rely on physical puck play tend to be better on one side. Compounding this is the mental aspect of it of being put in the same spots on the ice time and time again at a level of hockey where decisions are made in milliseconds.

Listen to the players who Kreiderman stalked!

For both Laf and Kakko, I really hope the coaches are telling them that they have one thing they need to work on. Foot speed. That should be the only thing they are working on next off-season.

Breaking News:

Laffy is not McDavid. He needs actual good players to produce, not anchors with feet as hands
