I guess they like Guhle, Harris, Xhekaj, Strubble, Norlinder, and Fairbrother on the left side?

Man without Romanov all of a sudden we don't look as deep...

He likes size and skating... Hopefully also hockey sense and high offensive IQ. I really hope we don't have a second consecutive GM that doesn't adequately value offensive IQ.
If Romanov made us deep then we are sad, which we are. Romanov can be replaced by 2-4 graduates from the minors. Guhl for sure. Jakeye, maybe. Etc etc. But, if we lose Petry and don’t add, we will have another terrible season, especially without Price.

I like Romanov, he's easy player to like, but besides being entertaining it's fair to question what kind of upside he really has. Him becoming a solid top 4 guy is far from certain at this point.

So the idea of moving him + 4th rounder to get 13th overall is not bad at all. You have a chance to kind of redo the pick and shoot for something bigger and better with a fairly high pick.

But to then move that 13th pick + 3th rounder for Dach, that's insane. Ottawa didn't pay that much more for DeBrincat, and Dach has done basically nothing since getting drafted. It's a crazy price for someone who is trending fast towards bust territory. Of course he's still very young and we'll see where things go from here, but right now my sense is that they severely overrated Dach and this ends up being a really bad trade.

Romanov was never going to be a 1st pair guy but still the league worse defence got even weaker

Romanov was on an upward trajectory. I'm not against losing a player of last season's stature. It's future Romanov that concerns me.

We'll see what that is versus Dach's...

Hopefully it isn't McDonagh for Gomez or Sergachev for Drouin all over again...

1- Who cares? Edmundson is not a top 4 d-man when are you all gonna learn lmfao. He's a third pair d-man. My god people overrate players. Dude had a fluke season in a canadian division , give me a break

2-Not everyone only look at a team when they watch hockey. Dach has been absolutely abysmal for 3 years in Chicago. He struggle to make any plays to open the ice for his wingers. He's also been injured at the wrist.

Yet u say Romanov couldnt be more than #3 which the only d-man we have as a top 3 is Petry who is probably leaving.

Dach will end up as a 3rd line center. No way he breaks 40 points even with good centers.

It's a terrible trade , the plan is to rebuild and yet all the awful veterans are still there.
Who cares as in we'll still be rebuilding next year. If we dont have one prospect who can replace Romanov in the depth chart, then this rebuild is doomed.

Your takes are always over dramatic. Dach has been abysmal all his tenure lol. You mean his big sample of 150 GP as a teenager and playing for a gongshow and a coach in over his head?

Dach had more SOG per game this season which is a good sign and played with a revolving door of linemates. CHI also have shit D for transition game. He showed nice things last season upon his return. Stop overreacting. This move is done not to waste Suzuki and Caufield's prime.

'' to waste Suzuki and Caufield''

Romanov is freaking 22 not 28. Do you have any idea how it works a rebuild? you trade the vets not the kids and you don't trade a kid who was on the rise for a kid that struggled for 3 years straight.
