Right now i would just waive him. I get that we all want to get something for him, like a bag of pucks, but honestly this would be a addition by subtraction move. Getting him off the roster cuts 2m off our books, it allows Kinkaid who has shown he is capable to play backup, or bring up Huska and see what we have there. Sometimes goalies just dont work out and right now id rather have a capable backup than try to fix Geo at a 2.5m cap hit.

Bye Felicia lol

You can be certain that if Drury waives Geo the armchair micromanagers will be out with their knives again.

If anything being prudent and attempting to hold out for a better return came back to bite the Rangers this time.

Belive me I want to get rid of Georgie to but we need to trade for a backup if so. Kinkaid is not a NHL goalie for sure.
Kinkaid is a little bit below replacement level, but he’s still much better than what Georgiev has shown this year. If Kinkaid can just play at the level he did last year, he’s still more than one goal per game better than Georgiev. There are no skaters in the league who have that level of impact…

Seems like fantasy to me. Getting rid of Geo would probably be the most universally agreed upon decision among the fan base since we all hated Tanner Glass as a collective.

Easy to say after the string of fiascos we've seen.

But if Drury had let Geo go for peanuts in the summer, on top of the Buch trade you can be sure Drury would have gotten both barrels from some quarters.

Sorry, I thought you meant if he got rid of him now.

I, personally, would’ve been fine with dumping him this summer for a league average backup, but I can definitely imagine the scenario where they dump him and the mental midgets that occupy my iggy list lose their minds.

And thats people being short sighted on the team. Geo has no future with us especially at the cap hit he is making. Even if we was a capable backup his 2.5m is ridiculous to pay him. We would gain more with the capspace. People just have to realize addition by subtraction is a real thing lol.

And this is the problem with some GMs. They overplay their hand instead of taking the best offer out there when available. Part of why i HATE the nfl lol. Those gms are stupid!

This isn't the NFL with non-guaranteed contracts, I'm not 100% sure but don't think it's so simple to get out of his contract by simply cutting him. Another team would have to pick him up with his 2.4 mil contract (why would anyone do that?!?) if we cut him, otherwise he'll be sitting at home but still getting paid and counting against the cap.

The point is he is losing us games and playing extremely poorly. He needs to be in the AHL or not on this team at all. If a team picks up his contract then fine. Its addition by subtraction. We are removing a bad player from our team and replacing him with a competent backup. I honestly dont care if he gets picked up or not. The whole point is to remove him from the team.

What i mean by NFL gms being stupid is that they dont move players that they are not going to keep. Like the bears with Allen Robinson, or colts with marlon mack and so on. Makes no sense. So when a player has been playing poorly for years and the whole point is to just move him off the team, it shouldnt matter if its a 7th rounder or a bag of pucks.

2 things.

With Kinkaid you can ride Igor for longer stretches without fear of your backup diminishing more.

Kinkaid doesn't mentally check out after a quick goal, bad goal, etc. Kinkaid is also much better personality on the bench. Georgiev sulks.

I would waive him. There's only 4-5 teams in the league that could take his entire contract. He's still owed just over $2MM for this season. I'd take my chances.

but the insiders say he’s the top G avail lol

I’d deal him for a rental and be done W it

can get Jones , Greiss

Why would any team in the league want this guy? Shit attitude and he can't track the puck at an NHL level
