There isn’t a metric for it, but Tuch is an elite hugger of teammates.

He is the perfect guy to get in an Eichel trade. He’s playing well, he loves being a Sabre, and he seems to be a great teammate and person.

He is quickly becoming my favorite player on the team.

He is probably the most likeable member of the franchise since Glotov. Before that...? I dunno. Ryan Miller?

Given how his tenure in Buffalo played out, until proven otherwise I prefer a pretty good hockey player over Jack Eichel.

When the trade happen, i say what... that's not the return that i'd expected, but when i see your depth with Cozens, Quinn, Olofsson, Thompson, Rosen at young forward. Krebs and Tuch fit perfectly on that. You have a very balanced team with that trade, really like Alex Tuch and he is going to be a very good veteran for your youngstars.

Actually I think his role will likely lead to reduced production since we simply don't have the two way wingers. During Tuch's best season with Vegas, (52 pts in 74 games), he was seeing pretty high Ozone starts. Those high ozone starts will likely go to wingers like Quinn next year.

If Tuch can give us 20 G/20 A, strong two way play, and be a leader for a very young team, it's a great thing. I don't see him getting consistently above 50 pts.

10 points in 10 games is pretty good, but what makes it more impressive to me is that he’s producing after surgery/rehab and not having played all year. He just stepped right in, basically mid season, and hasn’t missed a step.

I’m all for giving that mother Tuch-er the C in the off-season.

And he hasn't missed a step playing in this frappe'd lineup that is nowhere near stable and nowhere near constant.

Even if Tuch sits at a .8 PPG for his tenure in Buffalo, at worst case this trade would be a win/win.

Getting guys who want to be here is huge for our culture. Working out well for the Bills

I don’t hold anything against Eich, but I think it was just too much for him. The C, the constant losing- dude wanted to win and didn’t see it happening in the foreseeable future. Maybe a bit impatient on his part, but he didn’t wanna gamble his prime on a rebuilding squad. I can get that.

But Tuch seems a bit more level-headed about it, he loves Buffalo, he gets the situation in a way that Jack just couldn’t. So, ya, if this makes us a team led by a very good player as opposed to like an Edmonton situation I’m all for it. We all needed to move on (Risto and Sam as well) and we needed the right leader coming the other way. We got him, we’ve got prospects that should turn into great players. I’m actually hopeful, whereas it always felt like wishful thinking in previous years. Give it 2 years with the caps and Boston falling off and I think we’re in a great position.

Looking forward to seeing his video tribute tomorrow. Probably be one for Eakin as well since this is his first trip back to Vegas as an opponent. Krebs will probably get a little blurb but he didn't play here that much.
