Reminds me of Josh Anderson with more IQ

That being said I'd love to see Slafbustsky on the top line FFS with CC and Newhook as the center.

I much preferred Monahan just for what you pointed out, being a better mix, I'd be interested to see him with Dach and Slaf tho. I'm fine with keeping RHP there and Newhook with Anderson but it still intrigues me
Id put Monahan with CC and Nick. Newhook with Slaf and Dach.

That’s if we’re keeping CC with Nick (which it looks like we’re doing.)

MSL has tried all sorts of combos but never Slaf with CC and Suzuki.

Anyways, if things go well with the current lines, great. If not, I'm sure he'll try many different things. I like 8 of our top 9: CC, Suzuki, Monahan, Dach, Slaf, RHP, Newhook, Anderson. So there are lots of combos to try.

Hopefully, one of Pearson, Ylonen, Dvo, Heineman or even Evans on the wing when Dvo comes back, can establish themselves as the 9th top 9 forward.

Slafkovsky may not be ready for top line duties but we should at least see how it is pre-season. Im hoping.

The stats proved the best options with Suzuki and Caufield were dach, then Monahan, not Anderson.

Suzuki can play with Anderson, but it doesn't work as well when it is Caufield and Suzuki with Anderson.

It could possibly work out fine with Newhook - Suzuki - Anderson, or Monahan - Suzuki- Anderson.

Beyond that, I doubt that RHP keeps up the same shooting percentage on a line of RHP - Suzuki - Anderson this season, for example.

There are better options than Caufield - Suzuki - Anderson, whatever your wonky eye tells you.

I'd do it without any other better choice, but it wouldn't bely go-to, and I'm a fan of Anderson. I just don't think he has the vision or playmaking skills to complement Caufield and Suzuki the way they need to be complemented.

I like the apparent chemistry between Newhook and Anderson, even though the sample size is extremely small.

I'm pretty sure MSL will be trying Anderson on the Suzuki line at times this season (again). You think there are better options and there are but then it affects the 2nd and 3rd lines.

This is not some automatic no narrative. Keep trying

He scored 2 goals and that's great but the part I was the most impressed and surprised with was his forecheck, backcheck and play on the board. Won most of his defensive zone battles. I think he played a bit on the PK but can't seem to find the stats anywhere.

Anyways, put him on the PK and he'd look pretty good.
He could be our Russ Courtnall. The PP always had to keep an eye on Courtnall because one botched pass and he'd be on a breakaway. Didn't have the best hands, but he scored and his speed always made him a threat.

His speed is awesome, the guy really works hard too, it was great to see. He looks really small out there but probably doesn't help that he plays with 2 giants.
It's true ha ha ha. Those 3 also showed tempo last night. I mean that first goal of Newhooks happens because Dach and Slaf move the puck quickly.

I think he'll show a lot more here than Colorado. Sometimes when you're held back in the bottom six of a team for a few years it's difficult to step up when the only time you get chances is when top guys are injured or you know the coach is only testing you and plans to move you back down as soon as you make a mistake. He came here and Marty told him they're going to be relying on him in the top 6, I think that changes your mentality completely to know you're actually being supported.

Yeah pretty amazing start for him lol
You didn't want a 'well, it's game 13, still waiting to see newhooks 1st goal' type deal
Starts off with a bang

It's like I was saying lol, if Tomas Tatar could find success here there is no reason Newhook can't either
