And why would Blake need to throw in the f***ing 2nd round pick!? As if the trade wasn't already lopsided enough.

every 2 years of PLD is worth an asset apparently

somebody needs to filter Blake's drinking water, something ain't right in that household

but no joke, fluoride isn't what they say it is, it does calcify the pineal gland, and clearly Bowlby's 3rd eye is beyond calcified, dude has zero vision

Not going to lie, I lol’d

I’m okay with Kupari going, he can be replaced with one of Fagemo/Pinelli/Chromiak.

What annoys me is that Blake and Co. give me not one shred of confidence in the direction of the team. Top to bottom from GM to coach to whatever the f*** Luc is needs to go.
The guy wanted out. What leverage did the Jets have here and who else was Blake bidding against besides maybe Montreal? Just seems like a lot to give up. Although I do like that he’s clearing out a lot of redundancy within the team. This is what should’ve been done last offseason.

Iafallo and Kupari aren't assets. Just two weeks ago or so the way people were talking about trading Iafallo made it sound like he was that Montreal package from back in the day (Ryder, Halak, 2nd). They had to cap dump Iafallo to do anything anyway.

People love Vilardi, which I get, but Iafallo was on the way out no matter what as a cap casualty, and Kupari is super replaceable.

Now there are two forward spots that need to be filled and Dubois is a BIG risk given his tendency to not like his surroundings after a year or two.

So, no, it is a steep price to pay to fill a need that the Kings were in no rush to fill. I'd have preferred to use some or all of these assets to fix actual issues with the team.

And now we are paying Danault $5.5M to be the 3rd line C. That's way too much money down the middle.

One thing I'm excited for is that Durzi, Walker, Iafallo, and Kupari heading out means spots are open for other players like Clarke, Spence, Fagemo, Kaliyev, Turcotte, and others. We consolidated quantity into quality (hopefully) and can upgrade for cheaper from within.

Byfield - Kopitar - Kempe
Fiala - Dubois - Kaliyev
Moore - Danault - Arvidsson
xxx - Lizotte - xxx

That's a pretty potent top 9 with plenty of depth to fill in the 4th line.

yeah like, nothing about this trade was necessary with the other roster problems at hand

that's frustrating to me, blake chasing the new shiny without REALLY buckling down and addressing existing problems

Oh sweet baby Jesus I hope not.

Copley will be waiver fodder by Christmas. I hope I'm wrong but yikes that is not a good plan
Blake believes in him like he believed in Cal, but Cal burned him so he only did the 1 year. Quick's not still around to be the default backup, but they don't have the money to bring in someone legit. They need someone cheap and that's usually a career backup of some kind.

Kings gave up Miller Jones and 13th pick.

Kings gave up their best young player. Kings took on a massive contract. Kings gave up two other forwards plus a second. Are you ignoring the contract ?
that was still a worse trade than this one

That's what I'm taking from this too. This team had all kinds of quantity. Glad they're getting value for it before waivers apply

The Lucic trade.

Hell no. This is like if Lombardi negotiated an eight year extension for Lucic. Plus, Vilardi is a better asset than anything we parted with in the Lucic deal.

If PLD pulls the same disappearing act and quits on the team, this is arguably the worst trade in the Kings post-lockout era.

If PLD only gets better and completely buys in while Vilardi continues to go in and out of the lineup with injuries, this could wind up being a great trade.

You think the Lucic trade was worse ? Hell no
Yes. He was a one-year rental who cost dearly. A bunch of you wanted Iafallo gone, Kupari is useless, and Dubois is more of a sure thing than Vilardi in terms of production. How is this deal worse than giving up a 1st round pick that could've likely been Mat Barzal or Kyle Connor?

Yea... yikes. He's got Hammond written all over him. Now that NHL teams have half a season of film on him I think he'll get lit up.

I'm really hoping Varlamov is the move but idk how cheap he'll come. Ullmark likely isn't an option anymore. I would've liked Blackwood but he's off the market now. Every other budget option is all kinds of yikes

when you say xxx as the wingers of the 4th lines, does that mean Ice Cube and Vin Diesel?
