Ryder in 2003-2004 had a better season than either of them. Price probably and one could make a case for Subban's rookie season.

When Ryder was TWO years older than Galchenyuk, he was playing in the East Coast League.

Due to birth date, Tavares played his 18 year old year in the OHL. Galchenyuk was outscoring him in PPG earlier this year in the OHL.

Tavares has been top 10 in scoring for back to back seasons in his 3rd and 4th seasons post draft. Hall is current top 10 in pts/game (on pace for 90+ points) in his 3rd season post draft.

If Galcheyuk could reach that level after next season then I sure as hell can't wait.

0.96 pts/game over the past 2 seasons (seasons #2 and #3 of his career). Nothing wrong with hoping Galchenyuk reaches a certain level but no reason to belittle other players.

Oh come on, hall is not a 65 point player he put up 53 points in 61 games last year and he's tearing it up right now unless he gets injured he will definitely get 70 points next year and will be a ppg player for most of his career. People need to stop overrating our players by bashing other players like hall and Tavares. Galchenyuk is a very good player don't get me wrong but wait until he's got at least a season or two under his belt before you set expectations for him.

What held Ryder back wasn't his skill but his poor skating. Once he improved in that, he catapulted up.

Can I just say that the 8:21 ice time Chucky got was a result of MT trying to shut down the Stamkos line with Plex. He normally gets 12+ min. per night so please relax.

As for his limited ice time, I get the feeling this will come as a huge advantage come playoffs. We have a really good 3rd line that can be a 2nd line that's super rested and can take over a game against a worn down opposition come playoff time.

I have posted on this already. I think Habs secret weapon this PO is rookies.

Gally, Chucky and yes, Dumont. Young legs, tons of energy.

Not many teams are bringing three kids like this into the PO.

And in the PO, what the hell, you drop the first 2 games, no time for caution, play the rookies. Let them loose.

I'm also a bit surprised that there is not more Dumont love on this board. I love this guy, always have. He's looking like a young Carbo to me right now. Junior goal scorer, tough, Chez nous, and good on D. Watch out for him in the PO.

Why? Have not seen any of them in the PO yet and Gally and Chucky will do that this year. That matters. Tavares will be in the PO also, and he will also benefit.

Hall and RNH will not, again. It matters.

I put Chucky in the same conversation as Hall and RNH right now. He has faced huge pressure in MTL already, unlike them, and now he will get PO experience.

In fact, Hall and RNH will have catching up to do next year.

I grew up in the CARBO era , maybe the best shutdown center ever

played both ends of the rink , and if let loose would be a 60 point player

That's the thing. He's never going to be not injured, his play style doesn't allow it. He'll be retired before he hits free agency.

That is a pile of nonsense. You clearly don't know anything about how Taylor Hall plays.

He is less physical than Getzlaf and Ovechkin and both of them have put up multiple seasons in the top ten in scoring. He plays a very similar style to Pacioretty and has been the victim of some bad luck. Did his "style of play" cause his face to get hit by a teammates skate in the pre-game skate......

He has really been pilling on the points recently. If he continues to gain points at this rate, he may end up at the top of the scoring rookie race. However, he only plays like 8 minutes a game, and hasn't had a huge impact on the team's success.

If he continues his scoring streak, and helps the Habs win some games, do you think he has enough for rookie of the year? Even with his long drought?
