I really don’t get this. In all the 2018 WJC team discussion there is only 1 thing we know as fact - John Doe #1 had consensual sex with the woman as she has clearly stated in her statements.
I have not seen her statements. Are they publicly available?

would you not think that; their thinking at the time was;

Get him here. This team is about to flourish.. Talbot may be the answer. He (DBC) can be the 40 goal snipper we need. Other pieces are looking good. We end up at 100 points, make the playoffs. He sees the potential. Signs to be part of an "FYOUS" run. Similar to what his Chicago team went through just before he got there!!!

Talbot is not the answer. Injuries, DBC poor play.. and it unraveled.

I can see their thinking and I can see your concerns/risk considerations.
I think the more pertinent questions would be: where was he born & where has he lived in his formative years, what is his citizenship, and where is his wife and her family from. Answers to those questions will also likely indicate what kind of tax regime he prefers and is accustomed to.

A blue chip prospect that instantly replaces the 7th we lost in the original trade for Dcat? Marco Rossi would be an unreal return.
Yeah no... awful return. Rossi is nothing special at all. He becomes an NHL regular I'll be surprised.

You're starting to hear Rossi's name on the trade market because he sucks and Minny knows it, but he's young enough to still have that 1st round shine on him.

Mad that people wanted this guy over Sanderson.

This trade is gonna have to knock my socks off to not view the original trade as a massive swing and a miss by Dorion.

what you are suggesting is a dangerous thing for the league.. if national borders begin too enter, we could be finished.. we would loose access to star US players and Canadian players would follow suit. It could leave us here with overpaid players or less talented ones.

What an odd take. Marco Rossi almost died from COVID and when he came back all he did was go pretty much a PPG in the AHL. His skill set is excellent and he has the work ethic to go along with it. He's small and his adjustment to the NHL will predictably take a little longer than others. He has middle six written all over him with top line upside if everything works out.

People are so quick to give up on prospects after the slightest crack.

Well, according to Chris Johnston there's strong interest from the teams on DeBrincat's shortlist so it's possible that Dorion might be able to pull something out here. All he really needs is to get maybe 2 of those teams on the hook and competing against each other.

If you could get Nashville to cough up something like Colton Sissons, #24 and Adam Ingram have you really lost that much value? Similar if Detroit gives you Dominik Kubalik, #17, and Cross Hanas. Just need a small bidding war here to come out decent.

Forget about the 40 goal DeBrincat that existed in Chicago. We didn't get that guy and probably never would.

Not an odd take at all. I find it odder you think he has top line upside. I'd rather the 17th overall than Rossi.

Do people have a preferred trading partner?

I actually find it difficult to figure out a good trade on the few teams listed he’s willing to sign with

My ideal scenario is trading him for futures, Detroit seems likeliest, than flipping the futures to Winnipeg for Hellebuyck, with an extension.

Tea leaves, writing on the wall. Yet nothing concrete. Just saying it's a little silly for some people to vent their anger towards DeBrincat when we have no idea what's actually going on.

It's not just Cat. It's all the kids in this league. Look what's happening in Winnipeg. Look at how everyone wanted out of Columbus for so many years.

These kids act like they truly deserve tens of millions of dollars a year for playing a game. They all need a reality check. They are damned lucky to be in a position to play a game for a living and set themselves up for their great grandkids to be financially secure for life.

It’s disappointing to hear that players don’t want to play for the Sens. I don’t fault Pierre for trying to improve the team, Lord knows many on this forum complain that he doesn’t do enough. Maybe the lesson for Pierre is the only way to acquire a top 6 player is to sign one out of free agency or draft them.

Bottom line I wasn’t impressed by him

Didn’t seems to fit in well here, but I think we can use the asset for other things so I am curious to see how this plays out

which is why I don't get why we didn't draft Tomasino in 2019, and why we didn't pick Peterka in 2020. And I don't even want to talk about 2021 draft. I eat crow for the Pinto pick, but the Thomson pick has always been head-scratching.

Imagine we selected those 2 and a good forward in 2021.

Tkachuk-Stutzle-Giroux
DeBrincat-Norris-Batherson
Peterka-Pinto-Tomasino
Greig-Sillinger/Kastelic-Coronato/Kastelic

That would be such a deep forward group that has star talent as well.

Or when making trades Target players with term or RFAs that you know will sign with you before you pay assets for them.
