Peters thinks coaching, Rivet roster
Whoever runs their twitter thinks it’s because they don’t hit. Last in the league in hits.

Someone then pointed out the second last team was the New Jersey Devils And their 11 game heater.

They decided that was a point in their favor because despite having less hits than 30 other teams…they still had more than Buffalo.

im guessing it was Peters because it was the extra level of stupid.

There are a couple of reasons why a team is low on hits:

A) You have the puck way more than the opponent

B) You don't have the puck way more than the opponent and you don't finish checks

They would probably argue that the Sabres and Devils are in different buckets.

You’re going to be surprised when you find out the Sabres actually have the puck way more than they have in the past. They just can’t do anything with it except give up breakaways. Those last about three seconds and then they go back to not doing anything and drop passing themselves into oblivion.

IDK if any of you have been listen lastly but GD these last couple episodes have been annoying..

Petey and Rivs would trade Levi and Savoie for Hellebuyck (which will include an extension) and don't understand the disagreement fans have with that stupid proposal of a trade when obviously the smaller move is if you can somehow have both Levi and Hellebuyck on the Sabres you make the deal. If Winnipeg wouldn't make a deal without Levi being involve, then you don't make a deal..

They probably both still think that a top goalie plays 65 games and every playoff game.

Lol I haven't been paying close attention to worlds but I was pretty sure Levi didn't play in that game. Thank you for confirming
It was a rare perfect moment.

in the middle of explaining how they’re so smart and everyone else is stupid and mocking people for their thoughts on Levi he just blurted out “HOLY SHIT…HE LOST TO FRIGGIN NORWAY!”

and he’s the smarter one of the two

I love how they started the show off by saying "We're going to put our Hellebuyck Levi trade to bed." then continue to talk about it for 10 mins...

Hardly a surprise lol, but couldn't disagree more. Peters is generationally lucid compared to Rivet imo. Mainly based on Peters having a functioning sense of humor and Rivet just being plain dense. Either way, it's terrifying that former players like this used to run organizations through the good old boys network.

Worst take of the show today has been "Sean Malone should be the Sabres' 4th line center next year to save money."

He followed that by wanting to pay a third pair D almost 4 million because people would believe he would fight if fights happened.

Peters and his inability to understand signing Tage early just sunk him to me forever. Rivet had to be like a kindergarten teacher slowly explaining the alphabet to him. And it went on for months

They need a producer in the worst way. The show goes off the rails all the time. Rivet repeats the same phrases/ideas constantly. They’ll spend a solid minute researching something they should’ve known before recording.

I think both Peters and Rivet have more insight to give than what they do consistently, but they’re left going on a tangent about something that’s been talked about a dozen times before on their show.

I do a podcast and their patter is actually pretty good…and getting stuff wrong or forgetting something on a live mic happens all the time. It’s the caveman opinions that are the problem. Rivet at least attempts to look at things through a more modern lens. Plus…his need to list every big players height and weight every time they come up is the best drinking game in the world

You do want that looseness to a degree because podcasts where people are too tight or are just reciting facts are the worst. The thing today was Rivet wanted so badly to bury Levi to listeners in that moment….you could hear it in his delivery. And he didn’t even bother to find out he didn’t play in the game

I stopped listening to them in the middle of this past season and muted them on Twitter. I only stuck with them that long because they have fairly appealing personalities and they talk about the Sabres. I also enjoy Vanek and Gio. Their hockey analysis is terrible and they are embarrassingly uninformed. They know virtually nothing about prospects or analytics or players on other teams. Your average HF user is much more knowledgeable - and this is just a side hobby for us. Rivet has a 1990s-era size fetish. Peters proudly refuses to do any research on any players. Rivet repeats himself over and over and over again. Their trade proposals are hilariously bad.

If you've heard a few episodes of their show, you've learned everything you're ever going to learn from them. And that's without even getting into the whole Roenick side of things.

Marty and Duffer know 100x more about the league than these guys. If Vanek and Gio had their own podcast, I would definitely listen to them.

The only thing I'll give them credit for is that Rivet was right about Tage when I had basically given up on him. But other than that . . .

I can only take this show in small doses. Just too many uninformed takes. Though they called Greenway to the Sabres from a mile away. And some of the guests make the show more palatable; Gio, Vanek, etc.
