  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Too small for this level?
I think he is kind of where TFW was when he came up. We'll see if he will figure out how to be more effective. If he can, I think he may be a guy that can be called up here and there, not sure if he would stick though. He has some work to do.

He has speed, but it doesn't matter too much if you aren't producing. He does get knocked around a bit, needs to be stronger with and without the puck. He makes plays here and there, but really not enough to stand out.

He looked better earlier in the season, but as players figured him out, it doesn't feel to me that he has adjusted. All part of the learning process.

Unfortunate comparison because TFW was like a 14th round pick and Brindley was taken at the top of the 2nd round. That said, it's just his first pro year and only second since he was drafted. Nobody drafted after #13 in the first round of that draft has played more than 7 NHL games and none with an impact. Only six players from the 2023 draft have done anything yet.

No doubt it's still early. He could still finish strong this year, and build on what he has learned next season. Some guys just take a little bit.

I was looking at Brindley at the game and the above description sounds spot on. He looks fast at times (but is that only because of his smaller size?), and has some swagger, it just didn't seem to result in anything. I was hoping for more, guess we'll see next year then. He did a funny almost like a figure skating jump in the game, wish there was a replay lol.

LDBB looked bigger than his listed 6 ft height (or 6+¹).

Monsters lost 4-1 to Texas last night. Showed a little life, but not enough to win. Three game losing streak and just four points from falling out of a playoff spot. The team seems to have lost interest in playing.

Can’t even hide behind the “lost the best players” excuse. Sucks

Monsters hanging on to the last playoff spot with a 3-2 overtime win over Laval in a pretty chippy game. DBB with a goal. TFW with the OT winner. Nice game fron Sawchenko. Laval again tomorrow, Bellville Sunday and Wednesday. Big games and must wins if they want to put some space between them and 6th place.

Monsters down 4-0 halfway through the 2nd to Laval. Tearing it up with 2 shots on goal so far. Glad we decided to go out instead of watching.

Monsters up 1-0. Dumais with his 3rd goal. Now down on a 5 on 3 for 2 full minues.

Win they jump to 4th. Lose they fall to 6th.

Took Bellville 25 seconds to tie it. 1-1.

Dumais scores on a nice deflection. Seems to be heating up with 3 goals in his last 4 games, 4 points in his last 5 after going pointless in 7 straight. Score is 1-0 late in first against Belleville.
I see Stefan Legein is an assistant coach for Belleville. That was a poor selection for a high second round pick on our part.

That was before I started getting back into following hockey again. Looking at his career numbers, that pick must have been a real head scratcher as to why he was picked.

Legein was a high energy agitator type. Had some maturity issues and eventually substance abuse. Seemed like a guy teammates liked in the room, still remember his "Vintage Gino Reda" interview with John Tavares

If I remember correctly, the year after we picked him he announced he was retiring from hockey. He wasn't sure what he wanted to do with his life and was tired of the grind. The joke was he wanted to hang out at the local pizza place with his buddies rather than play hockey. He eventually decided to come back and try and make a career playing but maybe by then his ship had sailed on playing.
