Monsters have a nice crowd for Micheal Stanley night. They have yet to play any of his music between whistles. Monsters creative team gets worse every year. Of course they are disappointing the big crowd so far down 3-0. My favorite ref is working the game, calling penalties that don't exist. Monster just scored to get to 3-1.

Edit: 3-2.

Edit: 5-2, Greeves out, Cajan in.:thumbd:

I wonder if there;s a standard tape they get from the AHL they have to use.

T-shirt giveaway was awesome, but the game presentation needed to be more Michael Stanley-centric.

I seem to remember them playing Foo Fighters on Dave Grohl bobblehead night. I would think they could play what they want, but it wouldn't surprise me if they had to use what the league gives them. With him being from Cleveland, you would think they would have done a better job. That little kid playing playing Eruption was pretty good though, would have like to see more of him, too.

Yeah you think if you were gonna have a night to honor a local music act done good, you’d have cleared any rights issues, league issues and access (like if his music isn’t on Spotify or whatever source you normally use for your game ops music) issues. I mean, that town isn’t my town, but you pretty much have to play it, right?

Hopefully the CBJ make a number of moves around the deadline with claims and trades (taking on a bad contract or two) so that a cavalry of players can come help Cleveland.

If they were able to get Sillinger, Johnson, Berni, Christiansen, Tarasov, and Marchenko (and maybe Chinakhov but I doubt that) back and full time that would be big time for a playoff push

If they are going to send people for a playoff push, the sooner the better. If they keep dropping games, they will soon be too far out. They are 6 points out now, so it is still doable, but if they start getting double digit points behind, they may as well stay in Columbus. Plus, Tarasov didn't dress this last weekend, so who knows how long he is out.

Marchenko I think might be a little too mature and too good for that. Not that there are rules against it. I suppose they could send down anyone as long as they're waiver exempt.

I dont think they would do it at all but atleast it would be meaningful games for the guys. If Cleveland made the playoffs theyd probably be sent down at the end but as it is Im guessing they just want the young guys to have a big summer

I think for most of our kids, a super long summer for training would probably be better than an AHL run. At least for KJ and Jiricek they need strength training not extra games. And Sillinger needs skating training not extra games.

Fonstad scores on PP for Monsters. 3-0. Yeah, Jiricek with yet another assist, 3rd tonight. TFW with the other helper.

Jiricek is having a nice game so far. The first assist came off of a shot by Jiricek after bringing it around the net, Bradford putting the rebound in. The second was him bringing the puck in the zone, finding Sillinger, who fed Christainsen for the goal. Third was a pass from the point to an open Fonstad.

As I was typing this he carried the puck around the net with a couple guys on him, brought it to the half wall and was still able to keep possesion and send off a pass. Also had a nice breakup at center ice in the first period to get the puck back in the O zone.He is really playing well tonight.

Sillinger with a TKO. A couple of jabs, then the knockout punch.

Edit: Dunne with a goal. Jiricek not on the ice for it.

TFW from Christainsen. 5-0. 15 penalties called in 2 periods so far. End of 2nd. Monsters PK 7/7. Not bad for the 29th ranked PK. 2/5 on PP.

Only a Blue Jackets farm team can give up a goal with a 2-man advantage. (Well, not ONLY us, but it certainly is on brand these days)

Well, it was on a penalty shot, lol. We did get the goal back, too. This game has been pretty lethargic.

Gotta say it took me a couple of moments to check that this was not some alternative universe where Sillinger had been sent down already. Then I realized it's Owen. And then I started thinking how cool it would be to let the brothers play together, this really seems like a wasted opportunity if we don't do it this season...

Btw, @Monstershockey hope you don't mind my asking but do you want to elaborate on your Monsters fandom a bit? I've gathered that you care the most about the Monsters and I'm curious about the reasons/history etc., even if it's as simple as being the local team for you Your posts are much appreciated here in any case. :thumbu:

FYI I posted this in some other thread but JD was on the Inside Edge talking about everything, and mentioned the AHL Playoffs and sending Cole & co down. It's around the 15:00 minute mark I think, can't skip on this site... But he does say that the experience would be very good and useful and he thinks it helped the 2016 Monsters team players a lot, and he'd love to see it happen but there's some prerequisites. The words are there, now we'd need action...
