If this teaser means anything it looks like they'll keep the current Spoked-B. Thank Odin.

The 80's/to mid '90's uniforms were the best. The gold rim spoked B on the black jersey's and the black rim on the whites. Just a clean look. Non of this triple outline font crap. The current uniforms are too busy for an Original Six team.

I agree.

But I wish there was a third so they could rock name plates. I like them but not enough to put them on the main jersey.

Are we expecting to see the jerseys on the 20th?

The spoked B was always staying the same. The white backing on the Logo is now a mesh instead of a solid white. I cant wait for the release.

The font itself has changed a little in the positioning of the serifs. compared the new one that says BRUINS to the Dobie one. see the U, I, N.

Also just gold outlined in white vs. gold, black, white.

I'll be honest.. so far these look like slight improvements.

Ah, thank you. I can relax. Just doing what I've wanted for years, getting rid of the double outline around the name (and presumably numbers) as it is on the nameplate of the road jerseys. The numbers are just too hard to read sometimes on TV.

Hopefully the stripes stay the same and they also get rid of the black below the stripes on the roads.

Good be the perfect jersey I had inside my head.

Pencil me in as someone who would rather black outline with white on the letters/numbers. If its just white outline but thicker i think it will look odd and less 'poppy' to the eye. Will look unfinished

Annoyed that the Devils are not going back to green trim and that the Oilers are switching to navy on Orange after essentially looking perfect over the last few seasons.

Is it just me or are the gold shoulders a little smaller and the white a little larger? The materials are certainly different.

The only thing that scares me in the ads, "form" ... we're not talking skinny jeans style jerseys?
With how stretchy the fabric appears to be, probably. There's some lessons they'll have to learn all over again, with fighting, sweat draining into gloves, rips being hard to repair, etc.

I'm there with you brother. With this up close teaser, I feel like they're really trying to promote some kind of new material that is going into the uniforms.

As I said earlier in this thread though, a very minor change is fine. There's a lot they could've done wrong, and very little they could've improved.

I'm not a fan of the new borders on the letters - I liked the black outline. Being a skeptic, I wonder if this reduces the cost of making the nameplates. I mean, for the about 7,200* true NHL-used jerseys, a 1 cent reduction isn't a big deal, especially when you consider that it's probably profitable to have players like Chara, Rask, Bergeron, and Marchand wear a new jersey every game so they can auction off game-worn jerseys. But if it's a 50 cent reduction in manufacturing, and you copy that cheaper nameplate onto the Premier (or whatever Adidas will call it) $170 jerseys that are sold to fans...even something as trivial as that can make a difference. As an analogy, I'm about 99% sure that the neckband-style collar on the Bruins 2015-6 Winter Classic jersey was picked over the "lace-up" style to save some money in manufacturing.

As far as the actual font...I kind of like it. It's less blocky/choppy, at least in the comparison I see between the new font and the old Khudobin.

*number pulled out of my rear to a degree, but that's 30 teams with 30 players, 2 home and 2 away jerseys for each player for each of 2 halves of the season, meaning I'm guessing 1 jersey lasts 10-11 games. Yes, I know there are 31 teams; it's an estimate.

I've always wondered if players wore a new jersey each game. Makes sense from a memorabilia standpoint, as you say.

I don't mind the changes they've previewed so far. Unless they are hiding something truly hideous until reveal day, I am cautiously optimistic.

Which does not usually bode well for me.

I don't think they change them every game; if you literally had 899 (holy opening night milestone, Batman!) Patrice Bergeron game-worn jerseys out in circulation, they wouldn't be as valuable. Supply and demand.

The official supplier, MeiGray, has pictures of the jerseys in stock, but I wonder...maybe they have one or two jerseys of each type in stock, and when a jersey gets sold, MeiGray gets a replacement used jersey from the Bruins, and the Bruins issue a new jersey to the player. In theory, that would keep the inventory low, and match supply to demand. (FYI, a game-worn Loui Eriksson jersey costs $700. WTF?!?!)

I think I'll be okay with the new jerseys. I can't imagine them doing anything too drastic to a classic, and the tidbits they've shown aren't awful. I prefer the old black border on the text, but I can live with the new style.

All that said, I definitely won't be rushing out to get a new jersey...I've already decided my next jersey will be Orr. Just have to figure out what style, where to buy, and if I want to shell the dough to Fanatics for what they had on there awhile back.
