so odd how his game has completely fallen off

Wonder if his last injury is just something he can't get past

He grabbed his shoulder during game 3 or 4 this year and let scream an F bomb I think he has done it in. My guess is surgery in the off season

The Roman times life expectancy is a little misleading. It's listed as around 33yrs of age, but that's because infant mortality rates were so high that they skew the numbers. For people who, for lack of a better term, survived infancy, life expectancy was a lot longer.

Yes infant mortality was high then; however, we have learned a lot since that time from science to reduce infant mortality. This supports the argument that science has improved and lengthened life expectancy, which was the initial argument being made, I think.

Another player making NHL money who shouldn’t be in the roster. Dorion acquired him and then said he needed to get into game shape - the coach obviously doesn’t want him in the lineup. Stupid move, completely wrong type of player for DJ Smith
There were other perfectly fine players on waivers before.

just play Sokolov for gads sack- this guy showed up to a last place team out of shape and we are giving him a month or more to show he’s not an NHL player when he emerges - stupid. Just play Sokolov or Jarventie if you want someone who isn’t ready

Imagine that a guy with a little bit of skill and automatically DJ puts him in the stands lol

He had one of the worst opening games I’ve ever seen tbh. Yes he scored a goal but he was directly responsible for 2 goals against which really catches the coaches eye

New team, new system. No second chance?
If it’s a conditioning thing, did they not know that ahead of time?

Just playing devil’s advocate. He was absolutely horrible defensively but I do think he should be given another look, just not at center

Pierre McGuire on Gaudette: I see him as a legitimate top-six forward. I can see him being a 50-70 point forward in the league, and maybe higher than that. Adam's a tremendously talented player

Coaches are reluctant to play a forward who is a liability defensively unless the player is an outright offensive stud. I think that might be the situation with DJ and Gaudette although there isn't that much info to go on.

Curious as to when McGuire said this. It doesn't seem like we hear much from PM.

The PM quote seems like one that would be made prior to the draft rather than one to be made now after claiming him off the waivers.

Perhaps yes. I have no idea when it did occur, but definitely curious.

Hobey Baker winner.
He made the comment in march 2019 ... Looked like a decent projection back then .. he had 33 in 59 (45 in 82 pace) so 5 pts away from the lower end 50-70. He was high on Gaudette at the draft.

The Senators picked him up off waivers. Basically a no risk move. Who's choice it was to throw him into a game immediately , that's probably on DJ since he has control of the game day rosters.

As for being right about every prospect.. Let's hire that guy.

just more poor pro player evaluations. And Gaudette is the opposite of a “Sens” type of player, so the move doesn’t make sense

This one isn't a big deal given he was a waiver pickup and he does have skill.. It may go nowhere but let's see.

no biggie, just add it to the pile of ‘totally useless move done by the GM in an attempt to help the hockey team”

So this dude has been great the last couple of weeks, ever since they put him back in and this time not at center but at wing.

6 points in 8 games, only -1.
3rd in the team in PPG.

Currently outproducing other forwards in the bottom 6 forwards like Watson and Gambrell even though they have 20 extra games on him. while doing it at average of 9:55min of ice time.

Could be another Duclair situation for us where its a free top 9 point producing forward.

Could be a nice stop gap until Jarventie/Sokolov/Crookshank/top10 2022 pick is ready to produce.

He's got some skill with the puck but I don't think his skating is good enough to maintain it. He's a 1/2 step slow for an offensive player, especially given that he's not a big strong guy.

We'll see though -- obviously would be very good for the Sens if he were able to carve out a career here.
