Talented player. Weird guy.

Do not play him at C. Vancouver spent almost 4 years trying to make the C thing work and it just doesn't. Can not handle the defensive side of the game at the NHL level at that position. And he's a shooter, not a distributor. Needs to play on wing on a scoring line.

If he gets some confidence back and is used on the wing with a good playmaking C, I'm convinced he could pop 20-25 goals. But he has never even remotely been put in that situation. Virtually all of his NHL games are as a fish-out-of-water bottom-6 C.
Whatever doesn’t work for him is exactly what we will do

He's a decent filler player in your top 6 when you have injuries. I'm not completely convinced that he's long for the NHL, but if he gets some chemistry going with Stutzle and builds confidence, he could be a 2nd line winger.

Kinda sounds exactly like what we don't need lol.

Maybe magic will happen with Stutzle centering him, but knowing DJ, he'll probably use him in all the wrong ways.

I’m actually not surprised we didn’t pick up barre boulet. This guys clearly don’t do much in ways of scouting AHL. Every player we acquire played for us very recently

Wow you should get off these boards advocating someone gets kicked in the face! But I guess you can just hide behind Pierre from Orleans

Well obviously when Batherson is back he should be stapled to Stutzle. Playing him with Brown is just a horrible idea, as we’ve seen, considering how bad he is at finishing. Paul is the defensive conscience who takes the faceoffs anyways

Gaudette is worse at everything than Brown so I don't really see the logic. Brown is superior offensively and defensively.

Pretty much agreed with everything @MS said, I think he's really good and if played on the wing as an offense first guy should produce.
He should fit in with the young group and could definitely click with some of your top 6. Brown, pinto, norris, stutzle should all be able to set Gaud up and he can shoot.

yeah, everything except scoring goals lol

Are you gonna tell me he scored 20 and 21 goals in his career now to prove otherwise? I’ll be waiting

Thats a direct result of how little is spent on pro scouting. They can only afford to scout players as they play against them

Yea Brown is a better offensive player and defensive player than Gaudette. Easily. Not really debatable either.

I would not put Gaudette over Brown in a lineup, and especially not with Stutzle. It's a terrible idea. One young player trying to find his way at center with another fringe NHLer who can't even stay in the league and has below average skating and is known to not put effort defensively.

But whatever let's put him on our 2nd line right?

Lol

I know there's holes in the lineup due to not acquiring good vets and also injuries but if we want to start being good, Paul-Brown need to be the wingers on the "3rd line". They might get more ice-time than the "2nd line" but it might depend on PK and matchup needs

When Pinto is back (and hopefully healthy for good)

Tkachuk - Stutzle - Batherson
Formenton - Norris - Gaudette
Paul - Pinto - Brown
Sanford - Tierney - Ennis

Watson, Gambrell
Injured : White, Crookshank

Hmm, for some reason I thought we got him on waivers. Oops.

no, we gave him away on waivers though

Nobody is debating the defensive part, nor that C. brown is a better player overall. All I’m saying is that if you give Gaudette all the prime chances and breakaways that Brown got, he’d have more goals. I was just suggesting it as an option until Drakes comes back
