Since 2000, looking at 82 game seasons, there have been:
0 - 100 point defensemen
0 - 90 point defensemen
3 - 80 point defensemen (Burns, Karlsson, Lidstrom)
16 - 70 point defensemen (Burns-2x, Karlsson-3x, Lidstrom-2x, Carlson-2x, Green-2x, Leetch, Hedmen, Rielly, Zubov, Giordano)
Fox in his past 82 games, spread over 3 seasons:
82 games
11 goals
63 assists
74 points
+/- +30
Team Record: 43-30-9
Edit: Out of curiosity I checked Makar's past 82 regular season games.
82 games
14 goals
60 assists
74 points
+/- +12
Team Record: 54-21-7
Given all the oohs and aahs over Makar's offensive game, plus significantly more o-zone starts, on a better team, I expected him to have more points than Fox.
In any case, I love this current crop of young D in the league.
