Watching that goal again, that was a Jeter-esque type play from Fox. It's like he knows we are going to win possession and quickly gets into position to accept the pass.

Yeah that's a good comparison honestly....I was rewatching it today and he just comes in from out of nowhere and seems like he already had the whole play in his head before Kreider even touched the puck. The immediate pass to Zib and perfect positioning. Pretty crazy. I see more Norris' in the future.

I love Fox but he's never going to sniff the Norris again, Makar has that trophy locked up for the next 10 years. Fox can't possibly compete with a player like that.
it doesn’t matter how much better fox is than makar on the defensive side of the puck, makar is just so much more dynamic on the offensive side of the puck, and that’s all that matters to the voters.

I would be fine with Fox not winning a Norris again for some time as it would only make him extremely expensive to keep on the roster. He will be expensive enough as it is. Worth every dime though.

Sure, if he can get on Fox's level of defense, but he is not. Guy doesn't even play a regular shift on the PK...

Just like last year? Fox stays in the lineup, plays much harder minutes, is one of the very best defensive d-men in the game, and scores a comparable amount of points. I think he'll be just fine.

No, I'd rather him win a bunch of Norris'.
Yeah, as two others mentioned to me earlier, he's already signed (I missed that), so yeah, then that argument doesn't matter. It would be kind of cool if he one 1-2 more, huh? It'll be tough though, as it should be. Alot of young, great D-men around the league, but yeah of course I would like Fox to win some more.

"In the last 3 years, [Fox has] only been on the ice for 6 two-on-one goals against, and only once has he been beaten on the pass across."
-Vally at intermission.

That's 144 games. On a team that has often played a run-and-gun style.
Damn I wish he said out of how many 2-on-1s

It's funny... He's somehow added some 'higher highs' but it's come with some rare 'lower lows'

He is somehow showing he has other levels he could obtain. Literally looks like a cheat code sometimes...

Guys keep in mind, even the best of the best rarely win more than 1-2 Norris trophies during their career*. And even then, after two, the rarest players start winning them by reputation anyway.

*And yes that applies to Kale Makar too.

Take solace in the fact that Fox’s greatest attribute is the only attribute in hockey that improves with age rather than declines.

Maker’s better than the leading D-man in points who is also a superior defensive player?

Are they giving out awards for better skating skills? Cause that’s Makar’s only advantage.

Cool story bro, my post was laced with as much sarcasm as I could muster. It's a hot take that the main board loves. Fox will win 1 or 2 more at the very least.

Makar is a fantastic skater with a great shot. Most people seem to base their opinions on flashy highlight reels rather than any deeper observation.
