What do you guys think is the separation between the points with him and Hedman to get the Norris to him? Under 10? Over 10?

It's not about the point separation. Issue is Hedman has won it before, is on a team that won the cup last year, and will make the playoffs this year. They will give it to him based off that even if their numbers on both defense and offense are slightly in Fox's favor. It's just the way of things with the NHL.

At this point should just be proud as a Rangers fan to have such a great player. Hardware is nice but it's not going to change the player to who he is on the ice for the Rangers.

You are probably 100% right, and this should be expected based on how things tend to go.
Fox could have an amazing career, and very well may, but could fail to lead in so many categories at once again, and never get his "due" other than word of mouth praise. Fans like it when their players are officially recognized, it's a thing. He may never get this opportunity again is all.
If it is a lifetime achievement award, then just name it that.

I wouldn't mind if Fox stayed under the radar a couple or more seasons, but what he is doing now, I don't think it's not going unnoticed around the league, but then again, the Rangers have only faced 7 other teams this season.

There is no doubt it is already noticed. He will probably get 3rd place in Norris voting. At the end, you are right, it doesn't change his game. Fans get a kick out of it, so that's why we debate it and want our guys to win. Not saying you don't already know it, sure you do!

Sucks... He was running away with it in all aspects until Hedman's late game heroics Last night. It's hard (for me at least) to ignore the far superior +/- rating while playing for a significantly inferior team though. It WILL be ignored though

I know plus/minus is flawed and have not watched Tampa play, but all I know is Fox has to have good defensive advance stats, not sure what Hedman has.

Kinda bad, actually.

Hedman is in the Drew Doughty phase of his career where he's already won and takes the regular season off, but everyone thinks they're playing great because of the name on the back of their shirt.

Reading some posts from Tampa fans, and they said he has not been great. But yeah he'll still get it because of who he is and where he is playing since they are in the playoffs. But like I said before, hardware is nice, but just to have this player on the team, is great.

That the poster purposely sought out and came into the HFNYR Fox player thread to troll actually tells us a lot about the poster's insecurity and jealousy of our player.
The tires on the guys you keep pumping up may explode. Comparing Fox to a top five all time defenseman is beyond outrageous.

That's like, your opinion... Not fact. The rest of my post isn't in response to you... It's just like, my opinion.

Fox is very good at hockey where he stands in terms of the best defensemen doesn't concern me I am just happy to have him on this team.

Side note, I think it's more impressive when a player finds himself in consideration for an award on a middling or bad team than I do on a contender.

I always get annoyed when I watch cooking competition shows...which I do a lot...and in the final round the judges decide just to not look at the dish for the final round but also every other round beforehand. Your dessert should not win on the strength of your appetizer, if that makes sense.
It makes sense. And it’s like measuring things against washing machines...I may not have the experience...but I understand.

You're prob one of those Islander fans who thinks Pulock are on the same level as Fox for talking about pumping tires. Anyway I dont think Kaapo Howleg was directly comparing Adam Fox and Potvin when he said "Potvin Sucks".

Are you unaware of the Potvin Sucks chant that Rangers fans have had for 40 years and has nothing to do with his abilities? No one was comparing Adam Fox and Denis Potvin, yet you found the need to comment despite being ignorant to what the post was referring to.

Because he's apparently never heard the "Potvin sucks" meme before, and thinks he is entering a serious discussion with the upper hand. It will be great fodder for him to tell his buddies about later.

He reminds me those people on FB that take a joke seriously and then respond in a condescending way, not realizing that was the joke.

Indeed, I was not. And I believe everyone got that. Including that Toronto bra guy, who is just trolling (but has a nice avatar).
