to be fair, potvin sucks is really dumb and was at a time when the rangers were the little brother franchise and screams inferiority complex. I know it’s tradition, but I wish they’d retire it.

Nashville, TN.
That the poster purposely sought out and came into the HFNYR Fox player thread to troll actually tells us a lot about the poster's insecurity and jealousy of our player.

Of the 20 posts on the first page of his post history:

14 posts concerning the Rangers
5 posts concerning the Islanders
1 post concerning general hockey stuff

You hit the nail on the head.

Here
Fox is elite. No question.

Scary part.

He's got only 118 NHL games under his belt and hes 23. Can he actually improve?

Has anyone ever won a Norris trophy in a season with only 70 games of prior experience in the NHL?

Because its looking like he will

He absolutely can and will continue to improve his game. It is a bit short sighted to think that he is done developing as a player. As was pointed out regarding Kakko, holds true for here is well. His rookie season was cut short and then restarted. Then basically no camp or preseason games. Then a shortened season. He has not played a regular NHL season so far. Think that his game has a ways to go.

Then there is also that he is still not really physically mature yet.

in Dom L's last hart trophy tracker update, he has Fox 5th on his ballot. behind McDavid, Matthews, MacKinnon, and Vasilevskiy. insane. there's no other D even listed. just adding to this though, he mentioned in a comment if Panarin didn't go on leave he'd likely be a finalist.

also has him in 1st in norris voting by a lot. next closest is Hamilton

Eh at 23 Fox is physically mature. Maybe he has not found the optimal training and all for his game at the NHL level but you should absolutely be "physically mature" at that point

Doesn't mean he has peaked though. Even a guy like McDavid who trains with Gary Roberts, every season he should be better and better (strength/health/injury proof) because it's another year of improving off the ice.

Just wait. Fox is gonna f*** around and win the Norris. They’ll give it to him. I just have a feeling. The voters have to take into account that we really should be higher in the standings than we actually are.

Lmao

NHL awards watch: Kirill Kaprizov leads the Calder Trophy race, but does Jason Robertson have a case?

Wrap your head around this shit: Fox is leading the scoring race and that’s not the most impressive thing about him.

“As for those who are worthy, it does feel like Fox should be running away with this. He now leads all defenders in points thanks to an insane 41 42 assists, but it’s his five-on-five play that makes him the most worthy. Despite facing some of the toughest competition in the league, Fox leads an otherwise unremarkable Rangers team with a 57 percent expected goals rate and 62 percent actual goals rate. Relative to teammates, he’s adding around half-a-goal per 60 in both categories, something no other defenseman can say. It’s difficult to win a Norris trophy in the first year you enter the running as defenders usually have to wait their turn. Fox really shouldn’t. If he keeps this pace up, him losing due to a lack of reputation would be a travesty. He’s doing it all this year at both ends of the ice.
