Already the best and most complete defenseman on the team. Its time to slowly start expanding his role.Give him some time on the p.k.

Think he should stay on the top PP unit. That pass to Mika was top notch. He doesn’t have as good as a shot as Tony D, but his passing and ability to pick a spot with a pass is better. They have enough shooters on that unit. Need a creative point guy and he’s that guy.

I gotta be honest originally I wasn’t happy trading two second rounders only because we knew he wanted to come her but it ended up being a steal anyway. I thought he was purely an offensive dman but his defense and instincts have been off the charts

I had the same feelings. I even got used to his face by now! Thank god he's a Rangers fan.

I dunno if any of this is true tbh.

They've been rocking the top PP in the league over the last few months. Ideally you find a way to get both of them minutes.

Yeah, Fox is great but the PP doesn't seem quite as good without Tony on it.

Meh, I see differently but it’s ok. I think both are good on the PP, and you can’t put both of them on the same unit. So if that skill spreads to two units then that is good.

Remember when vigneault would talk about needing right hand shots on the power play? We got all the righties now lol. Zibs, panarin, deangelo, fox, trouba. Not surprising that our power play is sick now. It's just going to be tough to get more than 3 of them on the ice at the same time.

If Panarin wasn’t so incredible, this would be my new favourite Ranger. Kid is just a pleasure to watch. He’s so patient and talented. That play at the blue line was beautiful.

Tony has a good shot and enters the zone well, which is exactly what the second power play needs. Whereas Fox's more cerebral bird's-eye-view approach to the power play is better suited to playing with forwards like Panarin and Zibanejad... and seems somewhat wasted on PP2, with players more likely to bat in rebounds than snipe top-corner shots. He just needs to be more mobile when manning the point, but I noticed last night he's improving on that. In a nutshell, I too prefer Fox on PP1.

Anyone else feel there's a definite correlation between the increased ice-time for Fox/Lindgren and the overall team's improvement in play?
Yes, along with Howden on the 4th line and Smith not playing

Fox/Lindgren might be the "Leetch/Beukeboom" pair we have been longing for for 20 years.

I tried quickly pulling together some stats to see if there was actually any correlation...admittedly tough to do so since I don't remember the exact game when Fox was "officially" moved up, or what game I noticed the team had turned the corner on playing better.

Based on what I found, it looks like Fox's TOI increased with consistency starting 1/19 against COL. Since then, they've won more games (6-4-1) and had more games with positive CF%/xGF% than not.

Obviously this is a small sample size and a million other factors to consider on this, and there's probably a better way to look at this. But at first glance, it looks like you can make some kind of connection between the two.
