Would that only apply to UFA for today?Don’t think they’re allowed to sign him until noon

My opinion doesn’t hold much weight since I moved to Chicago so a bit pot calling kettle black haha, but I grew up an OSU fan until I went to another school for college. Going back now when it’s Thanksgiving/Christmas and whatnot, you really notice how annoying it is when not part of the “in-group”. Not even that they’re jerks, and not even that they shouldn’t love OSU… but it doesn’t need to be/shouldn’t be part of your CBJ fandom/gameday experience. Vice versa applies too.Echo much of what’s been said in response to this here, but there’s an added layer that I don’t think has quite been stated clearly.
There’s an element of “new Columbus” that not only doesn’t associate with the rivalry but also would like to distance itself from the university as far as the identity of the city goes. The population growth in the last 30 years is largely migratory, with many new Columbusites having no connection to the university. The CBJ fall right into that timeline. We don’t want college football chants or fight songs or whatever in our NHL arena. We would like the NHL spirit in Columbus to be different from the sometimes-limiting feel that comes with “Buckeye” everything and “TTUN” hate.
So that underlies the responses here about “it’s cool” and the like.
Since it’s not a “Re-signing” of a pending UFA I think it all counts the same.Would that only apply to UFA for today?
That would make sense as it's still technically last season until it strikes Noon. So we can't sign him until the next season starts.Since it’s not a “Re-signing” of a pending UFA I think it all counts the same.
Sort of how like we’re not eligible to give KJ an extension right at this second I’m typing this. But at noon when the new league year starts, we are.
For context of how Babcock operates he started Matthews in a 3rd line roleFirst line day one
Now official
I could see that. But the leafs had kadri that year. Fantilli gets to compete with Kent Johnson and Jenner. I think he’ll make the second line pretty quick.Would have been happy with either choice for Fantilli. Slightly surprised they are in such a rush to burn a year of the ELC but if they really want the playoffs this year hes better than many players we have. Being around Babcock and learning to play a more pro game though will be great for him

….where he scored 4 goals in his first NHL game. For context of how Babcock operates he started Matthews in a 3rd line role
Fell off that pace though, kind of disappointing….where he scored 4 goals in his first NHL game.

Nah. Just looks like 1 or 2 idiots who hate BabcockNow HF has declared that we are rushing him and Babcock will ruin him, if we didn’t sign him and he went back to UM it would be “he’s not going to sign in Columbus lulzzzz”
It’s pretty widespread on the mainsNah. Just looks like 1 or 2 idiots who hate Babcock
No, still 1-2 years awayThis was pretty obvious. Real question is does Brindley come over.
Maybe he just choose 11?How is Foudy not asked to pick a new number ?
Story said 91, and 19 were taken, he wanted a lower # and chose 11 because it was availableMaybe he just choose 11?
I mean it is his number. He’s the veteran. If he wants to keep it he can.How is Foudy not asked to pick a new number ?
