I say Gaudreau should be stabled to him next season.

Confidence is everything for young players& with Gaudreau you are quaranteed to be playing in offensive situations and getting offensive results which will feed confidence.

Gaudreau takes a lot of pressure away from Fantillis shoulders and he wouldn’t have to worry about carrying a line.

Load up the other top lines with Johnson, Laine, Jenner, Marchenko but keep Gaudreau with Fantilli
Again I'm old school. I don't think you throw him on the top line to start the year.

I start him on the 3rd line (if he excels in preseason maybe 2nd line). Make sure he's surrounded by guys who play a 2 way game.

I'm with BB on this one. Fantilli has a strong two way game already. He's gonna show what he's capable of during camp and preseason. If he's struggling a little bit, sure. Have him earn his way up. But otherwise I think you plant him between Gaudreau and Laine and see what happens.

Jarmo said when talking about him that he's played on the top line against the top opponents every where he's played. Even by the end of the whc he wasn't stapled to the 4th anymore.

Re going back to Michigan

If he goes back he gets another season with Luca which would be his last.

Listen to this nonsense

Love how it's not Columbus but the entire state Ohio versus Anaheim. I venture to guess none of those guys have been in Columbus, let alone Ohio. This kinda stuff is why other people in hockey can't stand the personalities from Toronto bias. Toronto TSN can judge markets because I am from Toronto. Noodles was the only guy that tried to offer the non-jackass view.

To be completely fair when noodles stands up for Columbus, they clarify about just the fact that he thought he was going to be living in socal only to have to go to Columbus. Which to be real, for most people and 18 yr old kids would suck.

The part they didn't mention is that, as we know Fantilli wanted to come to Columbus, Columbus is basically identical to Ann arbor climate wise and Fantilli is no stranger to living on college campus. And now not only will he be the big dawg on campus, he's big dawg to the entire city if not the state.

And I'm sure his parents are thankful he won't be tempted to waste his money on a big ass condo on the beach.

When the captain calls you answer!

You know what, I’m not gonna worry too much about what the media says.

It’s no different than when the media was saying Joe Burrow should refuse to sign with the Bengals.

I think that worked out pretty well for the Bengals in the end.

I dunno, linking Laine and Gaudreau is a mantra?

Im very old school also but I REALLY believe you let this kids (any kids) on ice actions dictate where you place him in the lineup. You can't drop him down if he blows you away or vice-versa.
Adam Fantilli and his actions will be the litmus here...

That's why it's so hard to create a lineup right now, new coach and new faces on the roster. Both of whom will decide where they play. We really won't know until we start to see some line combos in training camp

Gaudreau- fantilli - jenner
kj - voronkov - laine

then let chinny, sillinger, foudy, marchenko, etc sort it out a pretty good lookin bottom 6

Over/under that he'll get his first career point that night...

He'll score the season opening goal

Gaudreau- fantilli - jenner
kj - voronkov - laine

Marchenko deserves to be in the top-6

Gaudreau-Fantilli-Marchenko
Johnson-Jenner-Laine
Texier-Voronkov-Roslovic

It doesn’t mean you’re the top line playing 20mins a game

For example

Johnson- Jenner- Laine
Gaudreau- Fantilli- Marchenko

&/or really look at into adding a grittier winger to put on the other side

I am not comfortable throwing him on line 1 immediately. Not even dubois did that.

If he plays center, third line is a good starting spot. Especially next to a guy like Texier who is easy to play with.

Not even in pre-season just to see?

But once Dubois got there he stayed there.

Im never against a kid going back to develop an extra year but if he makes it then he should have the same oppurtunity everyone else has. Babcock is a vet friendly coach though so he'll start him bottom 6 im sure

Babcock has had weeks to fiddle with combos.
Im pretty sure he'll strike on something solid.
Babcock gets the benefit of his own training camp, I can almost guarentee he'll come in 100% open minded on lines
