Lekkerimaki is probably a top 10 prospect in the sport. Go back and forth on if he or Willander is our top prospect.

Kid is on a ridiculous run. Allsvenskan playoffs MVP - SHL rookie of the year, and MVP of his team - WJC MVP - monster AHL season.
I wonder how much strength he can add in the offseason without impacting his speed and agility.

Lekkerimaki scores, nice stretch bounce pass from Mancini

Besides the cold stretch after being sent down the first time, hasn't he basically scored a goal every game?

Feels like it's just a waiting game for him to bulk up over the summer and take a roster spot next season. I don't see him being traded for top 6 help since they expect him to be exactly that.

Lekk with another highlight reel rush. His hands are elite. Deserved a couple points that period. Made a nice steal to set up Mueller earlier in the period.

D-Petey looks solid and steady. Looks massive out there.

Mancini looks decent but nothing really that intriguing outside of skating/size combo.

Lekkerimaki looking like a Swedish version of Kyle Connor on that goal. Before this season, some posters were actually worried about this skating?

The puck is on and off his stick in a heartbeat.....goalie didn't stand a chance.

Hopefully Silovs gets a run of games, here. Tolopilo has been so Jekyll and Hyde, and I feel like we need to work on developing Silovs’ warts in his game. Should be a pairing of Silovs/Young next season (Young looks ready for the AHL now, but he’s in the ECHL due to a logjam of goalies)

Linus Karlsson has really taken another step this season. Still baffled me why he went down for Aman before the break when he was playing the best NHL hockey of his career. He deserves to be back up once the NHL resumes play.

I don’t think we’ve had a forward prospect on the farm as dynamic as Lekkerimaki since maybe Michael Grabner? Hopefully with a big off-season Lekkerimaki can add some strength and be ready for full time duty next year.

Nice goal but man that defenseman seemed like he got absolutely turnstiled from literal air
while true, Lekk forced him to move laterally while Lekk was crossing over to gain speed, didnt really have enough time to speed up whle skating backwards so he pivoted, but by then Lekk was already too fast. he did get turnstiled but Lekk played it very well

Lekk might be the lost exciting prospect to ever play on our AHL team
All the other studs made the jump out of college or were ho hum during their AHL time

The lockout year Manitoba Moose could probably lay that claim.

Kesler, Bieksa and Burrows all in full time roles. (Burrows wasn’t near the top of his game yet, but still)

Agree on pretty much all of the above. I’m intrigued by the B prospects/depth forwards that are piling up and look to have earned some time in the NHL. All of Karlsson, Aman, Raty, Bains, Sasson are getting older and have NHL traits with one or two flaws that prevent them from being surefire contributors. I’d love it if eventually the Canucks could internally replace depth in the Blueger tier; the role player that breaks into the NHL in mid20s and provides specific attributes/skills in the bottom 6. I’d like to see them all get extended looks in the NHL but unfortunately I don’t think there’ll be enough minutes in playoffs chase. It been a long time since the Canucks have this volume of players pushing at the same time.

I find Aman a little frustrating. He has the size speed, hustle, defensive awareness, and PK ability. For some reason it just hasn’t quite come together. Also, if he was even average at faceoffs he’d be that much more valuable.

The defenceman actually poked the puck off of Lekkerimaki's stick but it went right to his skate where he could still play it and he did a good job of recovering control. At that point the defenceman's momentum was stalled and Lekkerimaki took advantage.

Can’t we just be happy about some encouraging play down on the farm without dragging in the EP40 hate?
"let that sink in that the AHL is far easier to play in than a best-on-best tournament vs the best players in the world," christ people are stupid when they have an agenda. also wait until they find how many points Reinhart, Bennett, Hagel, Cirelli, Konecny have in 2 games. Mikael Granlund must be an incredible player!

Ty Young was called up to Abbotsford today.
Unless either Tolopilo or Silovs is hurt, this is sort of a baffling move. Patera has been on injured reserve most of the season--and when he's ready to return that would leave four goalies in Abbotsford.

Makes me wonder if the Canucks might be thinking of moving a goalie at the TDL.
