Please explain how that makes him a warrior? Playing through an injury and risking the bigger picture never, ever makes sense. I guess that’s the same “battler” logic applied to Smith

You can’t send Skinner down- he is waiver exempt and will be scooped up in a heartbeat by another team

I actually see the reasoning in the Smith battler logic. Bad games or not, that man made some f***ing huge stops for us and completely shut it down in games where we needed him to. It was Fuhresque earlier on. And he definitely won us some games. Avs series kind of changed that and I was actually hoping for a Koski start, but whatever. What Nurse did was reckless, Nurse knew he couldn't give 100 percent, Smith didn't. In his feeble teammate blaming mind he still thought he could save everything thrown at him. About 15 five hole goals later the story turned out a bit differently.

Nothing wrong with that. We have been NEEDING good third line players forever.
I agree, just want to make sure he gets the proper coaching to make him a good bottom 6 player rather than try to force offense as if he's a top 6er.

McLeod has overall been a great positive this year and this run can't do anything but help him moving forward.

Canadian media can talk all they want. Next year the Pacific division will be even worse and we will be better, if we stay healthy - we will be playing in June again.
Exactly lol. Canucks and Flames all look like they will be worse. Vegas might bounce back but given the age on their roster who knows if they can make it a full year.

Edmonton should be competing for 1st in the division next year even with freaking Smith in net.

Is Skinner considered “up” right now? I’m not sure how this stuff works, as he wasn’t ever dressed for the playoffs, though I know there are expanded rosters available for more healthy scratched players. I was under the assumption that maybe on paper he could still be considered to be in the AHL? But perhaps not.

Islands in the stream.
Still amazed at the player usage in 2nd shift of OT

Malone takes the faceoff, lolol, (why is he even here) of course loses OWNZONE faceoff in OT (again why is he taking that draw?) AV's get puck, move it to point, Foegele *covers* point like a flamingo, of course the shot goes through, of course Lehkonen is left all alone in front of the net, with the puck there, and both Keith and Bouchard forgetting the position they play is D. neither close enough even to take a penalty and haul down Lehkonen as the rebound goal is inevitable. Everybody blames Smith who stopped the first deflected puck he hardly even saw.

But the whole sequence is why this club loses big games. Just a collection of guys not even remotely doing their jobs. Count the errors on a play that was 10 secs from faceoff. Nobody had anything covered. Theres your Edmonton Oilers season busted.

You'd never know this was a home game and we had last change and could put anybody out there we like.

I would say to avoid/ignore all that negative garbage from other fans and media. There is nothing for the fans or the players to be embarrassed about. The Oilers won a Game 7 and then clowned a Cup favourite in the second round. They lost three 1-goal games to a better team in the WCF. No shame in that.

It is a way different feeling this year than what happened in 2020 and 2021.

Literally everything an opposing fanbase can throw in our faces can be brushed off by asking “yeh, and what did your team do?”

Classy stuff here:

This is really shocking and disappointing coming from two Canadian based Sports networks. They're losing many Twitter followers and App users from this, but they don't seem to care. I've actually contacted both companies to make a complaint about this. It's totally classless, and unprofessional considering that they are supposed to be "unbiased".

It shows ridiculous and obvious bias. It’s not about the meme itself. It’s the source of it and how obviously biased they’ve been against the Oilers since forever.

I'm bummed it's over, but at the same time it was rough seeing the tank so empty for a lot of the team. Even with Nurse ailing a healthy Drai would have made this series a lot different.

Very proud that the team made it this far.

My garage floor is covered with the remnants of my playoff beard. I didn't miss seeing my double chin every day.

He is so f***ing good. Cemented my jealousy at the Avs defensive core and capable enough to disruptive someone like McDavid consistently as well. I predict Norris trophies in what is the safest bet of my life.
His skating is a thing of beauty.

A badly injured Nurse really sunk them. They depend so heavily on him so when he's not close to his normal self, it send struggles throughout the entire group as is the case with most teams that don't have their #1 Dman.
The defense needs improvement even when healthy but I wouldn't evaluate them entirely based on these playoffs.
Nurse is good but not great. Definitely not a 9.25 million d-man. I'd try to trade him got an upgrade if possible.

Condolences from Blues nation. Was pulling for you guys. My heart broke for y'all tonight. Hope you can get a tendy and some defense next season. Oilers sure are fun to watch.
Give us Binnington or Husso.

Agreed. Especially since Smith didn't once (this series) show us anything that would inspire confidence to ride or die with him.. and when he did get pulled, Koskinen played great. I thought at least when the Oilers went down 3-0 in games, Koskinen wouold have gotten the start.
Koskinen is just as inconsistent.

It's way worse than Kane.

Kane atleast was at end of shift and in a speed position that exacerbates the play.

Landeskog has nothing but numbers, wraps Kass up, throws him down 3 ft from the boards and drives his head into the boards. It's a 5x more dangerous and dirty play.
JFC I just saw that play.....
