She would have to murder someone to be fired.

Elon please buy Twitter.
Maybe eventually. She'd get a verbal warning for the first murder. The next murder would result in a 3 day suspension, with each subsequent murder receiving a longer suspension. When the suspensions reach 2 weeks, they'll have cause to terminate. Documentation would be key. She'd probably file a grievance, though, and a good lawyer could tie up the case for a season or two. We're stuck for at least a little while.

Yeah I guess they might give her the Whoopi Goldberg "Nazi's weren't racist" 2 week break.

I honestly think if a white guy with her reach said that on air he'd be in jail.

I like her between the benches. I would keep her mic on in case she wants to randomly interject, "and here we have Tkachuk and Marchment saying hello to each other!" I like that.

Just to chime in. She’s just terrible at the job. Couldn’t they find someone more lively and interesting? She’s so flat and screechy

Every time I catch highlights or game action of a Devils game I get to experience how much of a homer meathead Ken Daneyko is. When someone scores against the Devils it's as if his dog died and Captain Caveman had a larger vocabulary.

Hextall is much better working as a commenter between the benches than she is doing play-by-play.

I've been in sports broadcasting for almost 20 years, and for me, the easy way to tell if a person is ready for the role or not is not what they call in the game, it's where they stop talking.

Most of the time, when you have a really inexperienced PBP person, you'll notice they speak way too quickly, trying to get every last motion called. They don't give the listener a chance to listen. We're hearing more and more of that over time. You have to let the play breathe. She doesn't do that yet. It's a skill that truly only the best utilize well.

Now, as for her tone, that's pretty unfixable, as her vocal range seems rather limited. She tries to stay low in her tone and then ramp up excitement in those moments. She doesn't have the necessary range to be able to pull off those swings with a pleasant sound.

All told, I don't think she'll be long for the NHL game as a PBP person.

There was someone like that in this figure skating event I watched, she never shut up during the performance (which are usually supposed to be quiet for the most part). The worst thing was when they did a triple or quad spin in the air she would gasp like she was bracing herself if they fell. It was unbearable!

Exactly. Some of the art of PBP is allowing the moment to tell itself. People's brains can only digest so much, so quickly. Anytime I speak with a young person who wants to try PBP, I tell them to slow down, be yourself, and if you're questioning whether to speak or not, usually the right answer is don't.

Jack and Louie are super toxic, just so much privilege and masculinity in the booth it's unbearable.
Haha. Funny times we're living in. I live in Vancouver and enjoy checking out book stores. Every other day there's a new book displayed bashing the evil white men. Apparently making broad stereotypes is culturally inappropriate unless it involves white men and Christianity. I view it as a sign of western tolerance. It's not perfect here but by far the most tolerant society in modern history.
