The coach has taken the personnel and made them even worse.

All I can say is that I welcome the rebuild. This team needs a new identity and new blood. Farewell to all the players who we're going to trade.

I am ok with what was said today. They basically did the equivalent of the Dr taking a huge ass needle out and saying," now this won't hurt a bit."
Pointing fingers and making all kinds of excuses is nonsense. Just saying," we know something is wrong and we're going to fix it", is a positive regardless if they're going to fix it properly. At least they realize there's a huge problem. That's at least half of the battle.
Edit: I am not exonerating anyone, I am happy they recognize the suckage we have been witnessing.

To me the biggest takeaway from the presser was when JG admitted that he knew and was okay with this season going the way that it has gone after making the Stepan trade.
At least gives me some comfort in knowing that he had/has a plan. That and moving Stepan at the right time.

We've known, through reports of third parties.
That the leadership comes out and address the fans sends a message that they respect the fans first and foremost. The fans pay the bills. Without he fans, no New York Rangers.
Addressing the fans in person is first and foremost a good thing to do. Times are obviously though, everyone are miserable, this was very needed to offer fans of the team clear direction that is not speculation, but a direct message from the men in charge.

Also if the rangers are targeting someone currently under contract...like sheldon keefe for example...there's no point in making a change now..keefe woudlnt be coming till after the Marlies are done anyways

He held everyone accountable...from the players to toe management..but he refused to put it on any 1 person...that's the right answer imho.

Many are blaming the head coach and for good reason.
Many of these same exact players are playing worse now than ever. The "system" is absolute garbage and has been thoroughly figured out league wide. On top of that, AV has zero ability to prepare them to play as has been shown many, many times over the years.

The official statement is along the lines of "we will evaluate during the off season"
I don't think Gorton supported AV in anyway except for platitudes for a coach that they're not planning on firing right now.
