News Article: A message from Glen Sather and Jeff Gorton

Well let's see how quickly changes come. Gorton and Sather have pretty much said major changes are coming. Are they going to keep this over the teams head for the next 2-3 weeks? That would be bad

To me, "blaming everyone" means not blaming anyone at all.

Where's the accountability?

I put a **** roster together, and this coach did nothing but exacerbate that problem.

That's what I would've said.
No you wouldn't..and if you did..youd be a frikkin idiot.

You're a lot of things...and an idiot is not one of them. I'm surprised at your reaction and intentional obfuscation of the facts.

Well Smith was just waived so thats step 1.

They shouldn't be rushed into doing anything though. You have about 2 and a half weeks, use them until you get what you're looking for (or close to it.)

He's just going against the grain.

No, I'm simply equating blaming everyone to blaming no one at all.

It's Gorton's fault. AV made it worse. Is he gonna say that in a presser? Probably not. Would I have applauded him if he did? You betcha, Sally baby. I like true accountability and honesty.

"Listen, I f***ed up, then we all f***ed up. We're gonna fix it".

Drop mic, exit stage.

We need him for the tank.

Can’t get a new coach here to shake things up and lift the boys spirits.

Sather is still talking about making the f***ing playoffs lmfao.

we're giving management too much credit thinking they're wise enough to tank with AV.

"Everyone shares the blame" is a standard response that tries to give the impression of accountability without publicly blaming any members of the front office. It's nothing more and nothing less. Whether they believe it's true (I doubt they do) is a totally different story.

I lean toward this meaning negotiations, possibly the heavy McD to TB rumor, see pretty far along on one of the bigger names and they expect the trigger to be pulled soon.

It`s an excited time to be a Rangers fan with new direction and a rebuild, but it all depends how big the rebuild is. :)

I'm not talking about you, although now that you mention it I'm not sure what you're going on about either, no offense.

I understand why he said it.

I just want more.

Par for the course for me these days. HFNYR doesn't get me, and I don't get it.

This is going to be a forgotten year... we would’ve gotten more if we traded these guys after the draft. Not with the deadline and everyone seeing Dahlin and the other prospects high draft picks will be tough to come by. We basically have to hope some contenders young guys don’t pan out

Teams typically have a really strong game after press conferences like this. Philly turned it around when what's his face said they're sticking with their coach after a 10 game losing streak. If we blow chunks still next game, we have a 25% chance at netting Dahlin.

The inclusion of CHARACTER has me a little worried. The Rangers targeted high character players to build this current core (and previous versions of it) and they ultimately failed. Instead of scouting for character, why not spend that time identifying players that can score goals and create offense?

I have no faith in Jeff Gorton leading this rebuild...he has made every mistake possible and has destroyed this team that Glenn handed to him...letting Eric Staal walk away ( 28 goals last year 23 goals this year and an all star game appearance )...trading Hagelin for a taxi driver and some taco's ( I know I know it was a salary dump ) should of dumped other players not Hags...getting really nothing for Stepan...letting Raanta leave and giving us Pavelic as the back-up...Gorton is horrible at his job...we will be bad for a long long time.

Holy bat**** this post is gold.

Hagelins turned into an overpaid 3rd liner.

Staal played like hot garbage for us.

Stepan has played pretty crappy all year long. Andersson will have a better NHL career than Stepan, while ADA has showed us a lot since his call up.

Raanta’s .916 sv% would have been a HUUUUUGE difference maker for us!

The team Sather handed Gorts is exactly why we have to ****ing rebuild.

Derp.

Andersson was one such example in this rebuild already. I have a feeling management is still chasing the 2012 version of the Callahan lead Rangers.
