Back home from game:

Montoya couldn't have stopped two of the goals so no blame there.

Peluso - meh, feel bad for him but retaliation penalties on calls ref should have made.

Reffing sucked - can't be surprised by retaliation - make the first call and we're on the power play, not flyers.

Points to Stuart for challenging after running our goalie (which by my count happened three times, all no calls).

Shoot the effing puck and hit the net. Too many wide shots tonight, more than usual.

Don't order a Caesar at the Tavern in the Bud line. Seriously. We're all there for a quick leak and a cheap (relatively speaking) Bud - cocktails? Where's your skirt dude. :shakehead

Except Ladd isn't a first liner or a second liner. He's been put up on a pedestal in this city because he's won two cups. He's a glorified third liner. Jets need something to help in the top 6. It's just a freaking joke.

 You realize Ladd has been one of the Jets most consistent forwards this year?

Sorry, but saying Ladd is a glorified 3rd liner is nonsense.

I was at the game.....I thought it was one of the better games I was at this season but the Flyers got the bounces? You win some you lose some......Flyers sucked last night but bounced back and played a very sound game tonight. Tough loss but we will win when we aren't suppose to....its how this year is going to play out and if you can't roll with it....it's going to drive you crazy.

We aren't that good......and aren't that bad.

My new Jets jersey is 0-3 at home so far this season which is a problem

Bryz looked nice and calm and a bit more like the Phoenix Bryz.

Agreed.

In the modern NHL even goons have to play with their head first and their hearts and fists later. Bad choice.

Can't say the reffing cost us the game. Standard NHL fare.

This x10. 16 missed shots, compared to the Flyers 5.

But Caesars are awesome. Especially if you substitute tequila for the vodka. But yeah. :)

Yup agreed especially when he got 100% of our goals tonight.

I still hate him from when he was a Hawk. If you had read my other post stating that you'd get my reasoning for thinking what I think. Can't stand him and I don't think he's a fantastic player like many of you think. There are no fantastic players on the Jets. Kane will eventually be one, but he's only 21. Won't argue that Ladd's not a grinder because he is. But he gets garbage goals. There's nothing pretty about them and when he's not scoring he's invisible.

Consistently scoring 30 goals a season would be pretty good for a third liner.

Yes. Emotion aside, bad choice really - retaliation penalties = dumb. In the end, reffing evens out, maybe not within a game, but overall. Just frustrated. Probably by the Caesar and rye/coke guys in the Tavern line more than anything else. I want my beer, dammit. Get out of my effin way. :help:

Yeah we get it; you hate a lot of people. The fact is though he's produced at the rate of 1st - 2nd line forward for the past two years. No one here thinks he is a Crosby but to say he's a 3rd liner is silly.

You can hate him and think he's overrated to your heart's content. I loathe Dion Phaneuf and think he's brutally overrated, but I'm not going to call him a bottom pairing defenseman.

Phaneuf -> bottom pairing is almost as far-fetched as Ladd -> 3rd liner, FYI.

Also, I 100% disagree with that last line, in fact of all the Jets top 6 players, Ladd is about the last guy I would level that accusation at.

Who's the guy cohosting the show with Rick Ralph? I appreciate candor but his constant negativity is getting tiring

Listening to TSN 1290, have to agree with Adam Wasney, if anyone blames Noel, Chevy needs to share some of the blame.

Bringing in Joke-in and Poke-in hasn't panned out, sure both have size but both are in the twilight of their careers, both are pretty soft players who don't exactly look like their giving 100%.

Jets have needed some help up front since last season, nothing has changed. Chevy seems snake bit to make a move and I don't consider picking up scraps like Clitsome, Peluso, MacClean etc. significant upgrades.

I was at the game and I really put a lot of blame on are veterans and Noel on this one.

Jokinen, Antropov and to a lesser extent Stuart weren't good at all. Jokinen is making 4.5 million a year and needs to be far better.

Now on to Noel:

I didn't like playing Pleuso tonight and his game plan was terrible. Why does he have us playing a very passive 1 2 2 against a team that played last night and should be tired. It was ridiculous, we should have had two guys going in hard on the forecheck to pressure their tired D. Not only that but often he had the slowest forward on the line as the first one in, it isn't surprising in the least that we didn't have sustained pressure.

2 seasons he's scored 29 & 28. That's it. 2 seasons. Going from 15 & 17 the two previous seasons. That's also going from a tougher conference in the west and going to the east where there are more higher scoring games. 2 seasons isn't like Malkin consistent or Sedins consistent.

Agree but who exactly do you have to go in hard on the forecheck, pretty tough to send Poke-in, Antro or Wellwood their so slow the puck is already out of the zone when these guys get down low. Wheeler and Joke-in certainly don't want to make contact with the opposition.

Hating on Ladd is ridiculous. He's a solid contributor and a good leader for a young team

Fair enough. Still don't think he's a top 6 on a winning team. Maybe that's what I was trying to get across. I can't find what line he was on in Chicago but I don't think it was in the top 6. He played against the Sedins if I remember correctly. On the Jets, yeah because there aren't any better options. Hence why his goal totals went up.

What would you have Chevy do? Our #1 need was a center and Jokinen was the best center available on the UFA market. I know it's easier to kick and scream and throw a fit but I don't see what else there is to do. There are 20 other teams looking for help upfront as well ...

Wheeler is 6'5 and needs to hit the opposition. He could punish them if he actually hit them. Reminds me of Taylor Pyatt minus the skating. Pyatt's a pylon.

My Jets apathy is becoming frightening. I'm just sick of supporting losing teams. I still watch, pay for centre ice, and buy my merch. But every time they lose I hardly get mad anymore. We're a mediocre team. It just breaks my heart because I want to enjoy a winning Jets team so damn much. I want to win playoff tickets on the random draw and drive in from Calgary over night with "honk for the Jets" written on my rear window.

*sigh* being a fan of this team is a lot of misery it seems.
