Post-Game Talk: A little slow, a little late. Jets lose 3-2.

Coach lost this one from teh start, rookie goon, why?
Called it,

Utter B.S. Peluso cost us the same as you called; absolutely nothing.

Brutal effort. An average team dictated the game, playing the second of back to back games on the road, in our barn. The Jets let the opposition control the pace. This is the most disappointing loss of the year. No urgency, no authority, no control.

Yea size doesn't mean a lot if you're not hitting.

I'm not going to harp on Noel anymore, because quite honestly I like him, but it is pretty hard to imagine any real change happening with the way they seem to 'strategize' whether it be breaking out, or pressuring the zone, or the PP, or whatever. I just don't see it changing unless the team collectively plays lights out.

I feel we were badly out-coached in the 2nd and 3rd, something new wasn't being given to our players and they continued the same ole

Lol... what? No, we were out skated.

Not to mention, Mr. Universe stood on his mother fuggin head.

Burmi cannot buy a point. I noticed him getting pp time and lining up with Kane which I like to see

In the last 5 games there are very few Jets that I feel are firing on all cylinders (or even half of them) but I have to say I am pretty taken by Burmi and Ladd right now.

That's right, Ladd. There is no one willing to take a hit in front of the net like he is right now. The guy has become a true grinder, not that he wasn't before.

This team has to be really deflated right now.... and it gets uglier in the coming days.

Except Ladd isn't a first liner or a second liner. He's been put up on a pedestal in this city because he's won two cups. He's a glorified third liner. Jets need something to help in the top 6. It's just a freaking joke.

Also, it's good to see that getting bigger has made us so tough to play against.... :squint:

If there is anything good that has come out of this bad start to the season is that we can throw this around in people's face (both fans and in the management), people who keep repeating the "bigger and tougher to play against" cliche like it's gospel.

Also, Bryzgalov didn't do anything spectacular. The only chances the Jets generated that didn't result in goals were Kane's missed open net in the 2nd and Little's miss in the 3rd.

Bryz was solid, especially directing rebounds, but he didn't make any game changing saves. The stops he made on Kane were either a standard butterfly or a 'stand still and let him hit me'.

It was all set up for a Jets win, so the result is no surprise.

Peluso was a waste of a roster spot.

And he leads the team in goals, shows up most nights, aside from Burmi who else of the Jets forwards can you say that about.

Third liners don't put up 29 goals and 50+ points.

He's not a third liner, sorry.

The one reason the Flyers won tonight: Bryz. Jet's didn't play that well, but they had more than enough chances that got "stuffed" by Bryzgalov standing on his head to allow the Flyers to win.

Don't get me wrong: there were definite issues with effort, finish, passing, etc, etc, but when it came down to it, if he hadn't stood on his head, IMHO they could have won this. I simply don't understand how some of those chances around the net didn't go in.

IMHO. ;)

Jets have got bigger, they just haven't learned to play tougher yet. I mean out compete for the puck in the corners and behind the net not get suckered into penalties tougher. Everyone can be 6. 7" and they play like that it doesn't matter. We are still a soft team especially with Bogo out of the line up.

With 50 pts last season (not his best total), Ladd still finished 90th out of all forwards of the NHL. With 30 teams each icing 4 forward lines per game..360 forwards...that puts him in top half easily. Not a third liner, sorry.

At the begining of the month, the Jets flew into Tampa having just loss to the Panthers.

They are down 6-0 before the game is half over.

The Flyers played in Toronto last night.

Their flight to Winnipeg was four times longer than the Jets flight from Miami to Tampa.

Philadelphia out-worked and out-hit us.

Thats the difference between a playoff team and a non-playoff team.

Don't agree with the Peluso comments. Unfortunate that Noel didn't give Peluso another shot. That second penalty was a horrid call. Guy sticks up for his player, gets a brutal call, and the coach benches him.

Lol ignoring all facts and logic... love it...
Ladd is a complimentary top6 piece. 1st/2nd line tweener depending on makeup of team.

Sorry, but I think Ladd is massively overrated. Great captain, not the player to be on your first powerplay unit or in your top 6.

I must still hate Ladd from when he was a Hawk. I just don't like him. He can also get really dirty in his style of play.

1) Montoya was weak, 2 goals on 6 shots in the first
2) Redmond was awful, responsible for 2 against
3) Peluso may have played his first and last NHL game.

Other than that, it wasn't a terrible effort, but the Flyers were primed for a loss tonight. I have a feeling that by the weekend we will see a Jet team that is 2 for 9.
