1. Diving, probably, although safari would also be lit. But maybe Cozumel and not Thailand. Definitely not a cruise. Never. Zero interest.

2. You’ve ruined one of my favorite songs just by suggesting that, Dan. I will resent you for this in perpetuity. I’m not even sure you can make amends.

Side note - Brad Delp was one of the sweetest people you could ever hope to meet. The end of his life was impossibly unfairly tragic for such a person.

3. Probably exactly like I’m spending today, watching my 10-year-old son play hockey and my 7-year-old daughter play guitar. Definitely spending it with them.

4. Brave New World, MacBeth, Gatsby, The Chocolate War. Sad to see the hate for Gatsby, but the criticism of how loathsome the characters are is totally fair. Even Nick is a spineless wretch.

No bigger piece of crap than Catcher in the Rye, though. Holden isn’t even an interesting anti-hero - just an arrogant, whiny, smug, self-absorbed dingleberry. A Perfect Day for Bananafish is Salinger’s best work, IMHO.

5. The Cars. Eponymous debut. I think at Strawberries on Memorial Drive. By the time I was a teenager, though, my friends and I were just going to every used record store in Kenmore, Harvard and Central Squares every week and getting everything we possibly could.

I’m starting to think that I might want to work with otters as my “next act” after I retire as an electrician. Although I’ve never met a sea or wood otter in person, I already like them better than most humans.

Otters are cute and they are fiercely loyal and protective mothers, but they have their less pleasant side too. Mating is often violent and forced, sometimes even to the point of death, otters are known to injure, kill and sexually assault other species purely for sport and not for food, and adult males will occasionally attack cubs just because they can.

Can't impose human morality on other creatures but yeah, merely cute and cuddly they are not...

Just spent a few hours with some friends and a VR headset. I am both exhausted and nauseous. Did some VR skydiving and it was…well, i did it. Somehow the giant bbq Hawaiian pizza i had for dinner has remained in my stomach.

Put the boys on the bus this morning. My car was being blown all over the road. I have arrived back where I need to be and will not be leaving my desk

Behold the majesty of that rarest of occurrences: TWO TRUCKS jammed beneath a bridge on Storrow Drive at the same time this morning! And one of them is a City of Boston trash truck! It's a Christmas miracle!

As noted previously, what's miraculous is that to my knowledge, no one has ever been seriously injured in a Storrowing.

No power a week before Christmas is exactly how I wanted to start this week of 1654 million things to do between work and personal life

Back in the day, barbershops had a sign up "2 (or 3) chairs/barbers, no waiting."
Well, we can phrase this "2 morons, many waiting."
