I think you're optimistic if you think Cole is going to be top 6 in the playoffs. One good game probably doesn't get him there. He's been demoted out of the top 6 for the past month.

Thus you can put one of your grinder wingers, like Nino, or Iafallo up with the 2nd line, balance it.

And drop Namestnikov and Perfetti down to a 4th line to spread out talent.

As for Ferraro I don't know where he is at now. But he's a legit top 4 d-man, 20 minutes a night for 5 years running. Those don't come cheaply, especially one with size, which if you are upgrading on Stanley is the need. Extra year of term is worth something....I'd be curious what you think a guy like that is worth on the market.

I just don't think Ferraro is all that good. Maybe it's just being on a terrible team, but I'm wary. I'd prefer Dumoulin, if the Jets go LD. He'd probably be cheaper, too.

Matheson - still has term and is top 4D
Evans - UFA and very good 3C
Dvorak - UFA. Faceoff man. can play 3C
Savard - UFA, leader. On his last legs bottom pair D at best.

I won't bother with an ask....but Salomonsson would be my interest. We need RD.

Jets wouldn't be much better with any of those. Matheson would play 3rd pair on the Jets. Evans isn't an improvement on anything. Dvorak is a downgrade. Savard is a big pylon these days.

From the sharks, I’d pay a good price for Walman, but I doubt they make him available barring a hefty overpay.

A couple years ago aI would have been all for it, but now, Rangers would need to pay someone to take him on.

Regardless, his full No movement clause dictates where he’ll go , if he chooses to go.

None of those players merit asking for Salomonsson.

That's akin to the Jets offering a Morgan Barron and asking for Reinbacher. Not gonna happen.

I understand that, but elite UFA rarely get to market without being signed. Has anyone heard rumours that they aren’t planning to resign him? I haven’t heard anything, they’re a good team so highly likely they sign him imo.

No need for a 3C or 3RHD.

Imagine, Evans gets traded to play with Scheifele and the first thing he says when he walks in the room is "keep your head up kid". lol. Yeah, Evans is not going to Winnipeg. However, I will say Evans a darn good 3C and will provide lots of value in the next 3-5 years. I hope he stays with the Habs but the contract has to make sense.

I'm kind of expecting the Jets to do the same thing as last year.

3rd pairing LD for a 3-6th round pick.

1st rounder (possibly plus a prospect) for a 2C

Pettersson or Brazal would cost 1st rounder + two good prospects. But I would be really surprised if Chevy makes that trade based on his track record. Although it solve WPG's Centre position for the next 3-5 years.
