Don't think there's any way they'd put Danielson on a line without another legit center. Most likely he's getting stapled to Compher's side whenever he makes the team.
I know this will upset people but it is more likely to be Copp for the face off advantages. I expect Compher will do something similar with Kasper as well when he breaks in. But if you stagger then this way you should own a massive advantage in the dot where they always have the dominant backwards draw.

Copp's career average is 51.7%, as is his Wings average. He had a good season as far as FO last season and Compher had a career worst year. The only way the kids improve FO is by doing it, Joey improve a lot last season.

Copp's FO abilities don't make up for his lack of offense, might as well let the kids learn how to take FOs. What I want to see this preseason is Nate lined up with a legit scoring winger (or two) so we can see where he's at on the offensive zone.

I am talking about the handedness for the draw. Compher and Danielson are both right shot draws. Now if Ras is there you have the other side taken, but again then he takes minimum amounts and ideally Kane and Tank are split up in this world. The switching to dominant side is pretty popular around the league these days.

You also can tweak roles in zones while they continue to develop. The point was I saw the pre-planning as Copp with Danielson and Compher with Kasper. Now Copp core injury certainly seems to have changed that. But both players having extensive wing history as F1 forecheckers that also played heavy shutdown roles which seemed ideal for breaking in our younger centers.

If I'm bringing in a new center to be the future 2C, ideally I would want better wingers than Raz or Copp who are bottom 6 players. Joey got stapled to Gagner's hip when he entered the league, and now he looks like Sam V2.0.

I'm not sure how good they'll be in terms of scoring, but I'm not too concerned defensively with Nate or Marco. Need guys to teach them offense, not defense.

I feel you have a good point here, because if my memory serves me right, Larkin originally was on Zetterberg's wing and that certainly seemed to help him.

Problem is, Wings can't put every prospect we have with our only truly good center Larkin.

Danielson and/or Kasper might have to find success another way.

Showing his offensive attacking very well today. These plays are like how he had done in junior - now he's adjusting and exploiting AHLers with his same strengths

First clip, forechecks with speed and the defender coughs it up just for Watson to fire it to Hanas for the goal

On the final clip in OT, I see he got stick checked but I wanna see that pass tape-to-tape next time. Anyways, very short time into his pro career I'm pleased with him gaining traction this quick

WHL 199GP and 217pts. But sure no points is his specialty.

To be fair, those aren't all that great for junior hockey and top prospects. Not agreeing with his point, just that less than a ppg for any top pick isn't really amazing.

Well you guys can talk about that, I was proving the fact that he indeed did score points, when it was said he has a history of never doing it.

I wasn't expecting Bedard stat lines when I looked or anything.

To be fair, 217 points in 199 games is 1.09ppg. Still not amazing for typical junior production of high picks, but I have very low concern about how Nate's game will transfer to the NHL.

I realize I misread it as 199 pts in 217 GP, which is why I mentioned ppg. Still not great either way. Though his other attributes are what is supposed to make him an NHLer one day anyhow.

I still see ND as better today than Kasper, but that discussion is now rear view mirror. What I don't get is the sour notes he strikes with some people on the board. The kid isn't going to be an offensive juggernaut but he plays a complete game and is an ideal #2 center with high scoring winger types.

I am not comparing him to Adam Oates, because he will be much better. Wait until January when this kid comes up and starts feeding Kaner and Tarasenko. It'll be magical.

The more I think about this pick, the more I hate it.

Late birthday, still not an overly impressive player in the WHL. There was so, so much talent on the board.

This one will probably feel even worse than Rasmussen and Zadina in a few years.
You are wrong about Zadina, not sure about Rasmussen, but I believe he will be better than him

Quiet start; but since scoring his first point, Danielson's got 8 points in the last 11 games. I've always liked him better than Kasper and Kapser is already better than I thought he'd be personally.

Hoping for the best, maybe we see him up this year and he can do well.

If Nate and Kasper do well, with what we already have in Ed and Seider, and Cossa keeps it up...that's looking like a pretty good foundation for a team.
