Still don’t see the issue with sending him to the WHL. Isn’t the consensus the thing he needs to work on most is his offensive game? WHL is the best place to have the freedoms to do that. I also don’t have an issue with my prospects playing the most amount of minutes possible, in general.

I think this sums up the off season pretty well. Thankfully management has more foresight and patience than many of us fans.

Lets hope Nate kills it at Brandon again, but the team doesn't make any playoffs. Nate could be a nice call up for a late season injury to help with a playoff push. Brandon's last game is 3/22.

Playoff games in the NHL don't count against an ELC slide, correct? Just thinking far too ahead here.

He already has an offensive game...he lead his team in G/A/P. You can't improve your offensive skill with lesser counterparts. You can only dumb down your level of play to match theirs enough to try to raise their skill level to yours.

Plenty of scouts and other "professionals" have said something close to 'he has the offensive aptitude, it's not like he lacks that skill, he just has no one to play with'. So yeah sending to WHL is the only option but it is no where near the best option, that is AHL for him. He showed in preseason that he raises or lowers his level of play to match his linemates/opposition.

1) His WHL team is way better this year than it was last year
2) Playing 20+ minutes a night in the WHL or 13-14 minutes a night in the AHL could be both good for him for different reasons. Neither one would be “bad” IMO.

I hope his WHL team is better this year then this argument is moot and I disavow what I have said about him going to WHL. Until then, I just can't agree but understand why you would argue the opposition.

I don't think he would get 13-14 minutes a night in AHL, but I guess that really doesn't matter. I would see him getting 15-17 with the possibility of getting 1st line minutes if he outplays Kasper. Wouldn't the C-Depth positions be (presumably): Kasper - Danielson - Lombardi (or winger...i like him better at wing) - Doucet/Stevens/? In this hypothetical of course.

He was 43rd in the WHL last year in PPG, he has plenty to work on offensively.

As well as the WJC there is a high chance he gets traded to a contender.

How can Brandon have this many Centers?

They have like 8 guys taking regular faceoffs and Danielson is not yet there, who took majority of them at last season....

Most forwards play center at lower levels. I don’t see it as an issue because Danielson will slot back in with a big role and get plenty of faceoffs.

I have never seen anything like this. There usually 5, maybe 6 taking regular faceoffs.

But 8 guys and the best is still to join as 9th guys...
