The refs favoured the Swedes today. Grasping for something that isn't there.
Overall the reffing has been solid, far better than IIHF reffing.
They started the game giving Canada 2 PP's (one which wasn't enforced since they scored on the delayed) and a penalty shot (weak call). They missed a few calls in Sweden's favour (and a few going the other way), but then called 3 additional PP's in Canada's favour in the second period (to none for Sweden), including giving Söderberg 2 minutes for trying to get his stick in the crease, barely nudging Gaudreau, who flew as if he was hit from behind by Chara.
Strålman could've had matching two's at the end, but Trochek could easily have got 5 for his boarding play. OEL's penalty was clear as the day, but it didn't make sense for him to attack Eichel out of the blue. Made more sense when it was revealed Eichel had elbowed a teammate of his. Refs were equally bad both ways. So you're both wrong.
But there's only been 5 best on best Olympics. Why include the 94 Olympics?
The guy said "come back when you've won something". The Miracle on Ice wasn't "something" because it wasn't best on best? Canada still had a more talented team than Sweden that year (94).
(he actually said "Maybe someday you'll win a tournament", same difference, or marginally worse)
