USA lacks intensity. Doesn't matter if they had more skill, playing this low-paced game will still rack upp losses in the WC.

I know it's easy to blame the player selections when you suck, but they could very well be down 5-0 if they had invited the players you mention.

If they had selected the right players, they wouldn't be down 5-0 cause they'd always have the puck against Team Europe. Big reason for a lot of their chances is the US has such a limited amount of playmakers and basically none on defense today. Constantly unable to make plays with the puck has let to odd man rushes

As a Swedish-American it makes me sad, but there are few player I'd rather score on me than Bellemare. Great respect from his Skelleftea days. That and I dream of a world were hockey is relevant in Germany and France, wouldn't that be swell?

Of course not, and the rise of French and to a lesser degree German hockey is nothing more than a dream. Yet, the fact that a team with a French player at its core, and a collection of German players is a positive indicator of said nation's hockey programs. And yet, even if things go perfectly, we are decades away from either of them being competitive on their own against the US.

Is it possible to leave the "is Team Europe a good idea or not" discussion in the other 241 threads about that topic? Not a fan of that either but i´m looking at it as a entertaining pre season tournament, right know there's Team Blue playing Team White.
