its his fault that the players are lazy and heartless ?

The players didn't suddenly become lazy and heartless when they aren't usually (with a few arguable exceptions). Teams that are not well structured and feel uncomfortable often become passive and reactive, which often gets mistaken for exactly what you said.

As a Swedish-American it makes me sad, but there are few player I'd rather score on me than Bellemare. Great respect from his Skelleftea days. That and I dream of a world were hockey is relevant in Germany and France, wouldn't that be swell?
Here here! Happy for Bellemare and hoping France and Germany take another step in their development. No thanks to this crap tourney.

Taking Buff out was a bozo move. Torts is the worst coach in the NHL. His poor coaching is Team USAs greatest weakness.

Yeah well. If it was prime Gretzky you would have a weak point. It is Buff so yeah.

Torts is still an idiot, but they are not losing because of no-buff. There is more than enough talent there to win. See the other team in game for reference :smoke:

team USA's biggest mistake was picking torts to coach the team

no way they're going to win anything with that idiot coaching

Lets blame the goalie when usa cant even score one goal on Halak.

great logic!

its his fault that the players are lazy and heartless ?

Sure it is. A coach has to make sure his team is ready and the team doesn't underestimate their competition, especially in a tournament like this.

Buff is very popular. I expect taking him out in favour of a lesser player doesn't help.

Probably looked ahead to the Canada game a few days from now. Took them 35 minutes to start moving their feet. We see teams play those trap games during the season, but then that's 1 of 82. I don't quite get how a team comes out that flat in a short and hyped up tournament.

this is what happens when you take abdelkader, oshie, j johnson over kessel, tyler johnson, shattenkirk etc.

I saw 4 practice matches (Finland's + Russia-Canada) and in all of them the tempo and intensity was like something totally different. The USA looks today like a totally different team than the one that dominated Finland for almost 40 minutes with high intensity and hard forecheck. Weird. Rather bad quality and low intensity match so far.

3-0. I, like many others, enjoy Tortorella getting embarrassed. That old school hack has no business coaching top international sides.

What does the EU have to do with this? The Olympics didn't have a 'Team Europe' either, it's just a gimmick meant to draw more spectators. Most (if not all) athletes prefer performing for their own country.

Olympics have more teams and they actually just held qualifications. I know why you don't like that team Europe exists and actually plays well. I'm not a big fan of gimmick teams either, but if it bothers certain people, then I'm all for it. :sarcasm:
