I am stunned that picking "grit" over skill is making the US look bad. Yeah, they're losing 3-0 but they're physical! Gritty!

The problem is they are not even being physical - they don't pressure the Europeans at all with hard forecheck and powerful tackles. And, in addition, they show an amazing lack of discipline, almost amateur mistakes. Team Europe wasn't supposed to care but it looks like the Americans don't. The 3rd period must be hugely better.

And then they would be misinterpreting the song. However if they are referencing to the other teams, they are calling "North America" a nation, which is also wrong. It sounds like a good idea for a goal song at first, but it's just iffy.

Quick had no chance on the first 2 goals, a 2 on 1 and a 2 on 0...Third goals was a lucky deflection...But consider...Yanks gave up 6 odd man rushes against in the first period alone!!!

Plus Team USA has generated little to nothing offensively...

Despite their low shot totals...Team Europe are full value for the 3:0 score...and, in all honesty, it could have been more

I think the U.S. isn't trying. They can't 'get mad' at Europe mentally. You can get mad at a 'Russian' if you're an American, or at a Canadian, but not at a 'European' . Maybe there's some kind of mental barrier here for the American players.
