I did speak with my doctor last night but thought a second opinion from someone that specializes with viruses wouldn’t hurt.

Glad to hear it. He does have a PhD in Microbiology. If it's meaningful to you, I'd be more than happy to ask him, but I think there's someone else here who can give you a better answer as pointed out above.

Ah I misunderstood what you father does. My mistake.
DP you said before it should be good to go but double check with the doc right?

If you have an active shingles flare/infection the current recommendation (as with any acute sickness) is to wait until you are medically stable before getting the vaccine. Typically that means a week or 2 after, in this case, your blisters are gone.

It is not a definite contraindication though and can still be given if you are at high risk for infection or transmission, for example. You work in a nursing home or hospital, you are immunocompromised, are deconditioned at baseline, etc

The vaccine does not use a "live virus" or even viral scraps, and does not risk infection of the host with SARS-CoV-2

That last part, doesn’t the moderna use a “live virus”?

Negative. All the covid shots use genetic coding to make your cells produce a protein found on the virus that allows the virus to gain entry into host cells and replicate. The protein is non-infectious. Then, the next time your body sees the protein i.e. infection (because the virus is in your body, so is the protein) your immune system knows what to do. The vaccines trick your immune system into thinking the virus is there when it isn't even in your body.

My father waited I think 5 weeks to get the vaccine even though he was available in December. After that he figured any negatives would have manifested by then, as that's long-term for a vaccine and he got it. As he put it, he considered himself too old to be a safe guinea pig.

My sister works in the same hospital and she refused to get it until very recently, and I can tell this has been a point of contention for them because when she announced she would get it he had a thousand yard stare and said nothing. The exact reaction I've seen numerous times when my sister is hellacious about something for an extended period and then just flips position.

Anyway, the vaccine is safe. Millions have been pumped into humanesque beings. Vaccine reactions happening long after you get a non-daily vaccine are a lie. It doesn't exist. The stuff is out of your system quickly, at which point you're safe.

Your sister and dad sound like my sister and dad. I think our children are the same age and level of psychosis as well. Are we doppelgangers of each other?

I'm gonna take a stab at making this even simpler in case anyone reading is unsure, because this is neat stuff but 10th grade bio was long ago. Let me know if I mess up.

Vax Protein: nnggbhhhaahxbbaaammm

White Blood Cell: What is this trash? That's gotta go. I'm gonna learn to eat it.

LATER, DURING COVID INFECTION:

COVID, covered in that protein: Eyyyy nice body you got here, would be a shame if something were to happen to it.

White Blood Cell: What the hell is this? It's that protein again. Whatever, I can eat this.

COVID: Bro wait what are you AGAGDHSBSNAHxzxxzzzz *dead*

@FlyerNutter If you want a good hunting rifle you should consider the t-rex. Works great on squirrels, rabbits and possum.
Here's a video of some guys demonstrating it.

Hah don’t need anything that crazy.

@Lord Defect

I’m not really looking for deer, think more along the lines of Grouse, Geese, and those delicious ducks.

As such likely not shooting through too much veg. I’ll need bird shot but with so many brands not sure where to lean to. Likely a 12 or 16 Gauge Pump.

The levers I might get into one day, but I just love the look and feel of that mechanism. Tried an old Winchester. I don’t mind spending a little more for something I’ll likely have for a long time, but obviously cheaper would be preferred.

Had a 25 year vet teaching the class, he explained something about lead tips being used for animals to ensure a quicker and more humane kill. Full metal jackets in war as it was preferred to wound and have the guys friends come running out into the line of fire to help him. Crazy shit.

The next step would be a nice hunting dog that’s good with water. The German Pointer in all its glory baby.

This whole Covid thing is really screwing the economy. I work for a distributor and our vendors are having price increases through the roof. One vendor is set to have their third price increase this year, they normally have one. Most vendors are having price increase of 8-12% when it's typically 2-5%. Just got an email from a vendor saying one of their product lines is having a 15% price increase....yeesh. The bubble is going to burst soon and it ain't gonna be pretty

I don’t know the in’s and outs of your business but it’s likely not a case of it being a bubble but more of supply chain issue.

It’s tough to get products and yet the demand is still there so simple supply/demand tells you price will go up.

I thought two were mnra and one was a traditional vaccine.
