He looks *decent* because he plays simple and he's not Gudas or Trouba. He's never going to be anything more than that though and that's okay. Just need the 2 RD in front of him to be better.

His partner has to be better than him too. I could maybe see a Zell-Hell 3rd pair work, but I’m still not sold on him being an NHL player.

Just because that's a likely outcome doesn't mean we shouldn't be vocal about how harmful and stupid that would be.

Cronin won't, the others might. In reality they all should be gone. The Ducks expectations for this season were pretty low and its debatable that Cronin even met those.

Looking at the standings, it's difficult to conclude that the ducks were ever truly in the hunt. Were the Flyers in the hunt this year? I doubt anyone would say so but they have only 2 fewer points than the Ducks. Same goes for the Sabres who only had 1 point fewer than Anaheim.

To be honest we've had average goaltending since the 4 nations. That's why our record is not great after that. Dostal hasnt been that great since Gibson got hurt

Pretty well exposes that this team's "improvement" was the goaltending and a short run of the kids popping off with a super high shooting percentage in games where our goalies didn't save us.

I still think Dostal is good. But he isnt as good as he was this season (most likely). Goalies covered up a lot of warts this season. Yeah Lacombe and Cutter ‘improved’ despite cronin. But more young guys were flat to regressed this season.

I think the fan base is rightfully concerned our improvement is a goalie facade that wont be replicated and the skating talent will not make up the gap as the goalies regress to more normal numbers.

I’d love to be wrong and see Dostal be Hellybuck but its more likely he had a hot season.
