The culture that Dubas brought and ultimately the core guys took on is soft skilled possession hockey, dont get involved, dont stick up for teammate because you might get a penalty etc (which I am not a fan of). This has worked during the regular season but has failed each and every playoffs. Its like our boys were trained to do things one way and thats kind of all they know. Bringing in more of what we needed at the TDL wasnt going to change that. I like Dubas as a person and everything he has done hasnt been bad but as time went on and I saw his vision more clearly, I began to sour on him.

They are top heavy by design so go out on your sword if your gonna go out. For me go out there and just go for it no brakes......theyve shown when they do that when behind they can cause some havoc. Will they get burned sometimes? yep but so what. The leafs have only one way to win IMO

Playoffs don't really provide for that exception though do they? It's do or die. Point is, Swayman isn't a difference maker anymore than Shesterkin would be for us given our dearth of depth.

And we're not in a position to move out futures for help. We need to be very careful with any steps and I think we should be looking to acquire as much as we can in the "found wallet" vein and if we do trade or best assets, make sure we're hitting premium prices for long, medium and short gains.

When have an excess of assets again, I think then names like Saros and Swayman begin to make sense. Moreover, after we've had a long enough time to determine if doing so would be redundant having Woll in the fold.
 
I am rooting for the win, and clinging, I suppose, to the 1.8% chance (or whatever it is) that they can come back - they won’t win 4 if they don’t win 1.

But, part or me feels that if the Leafs are destined to lose this series anyway, then end it tonight, and don’t string us all along any more.

I know it's Keefe but I'd like to think he wasn't being totally honest with his lineup.

Lets see if the spineless core shows up to this one or they just quit during the playoffs cause it's not going there way and the media is being mean to them, truly expecting to get swept tonight.

unless "a win" translates into 4 more this round, and then another 8. honestly. i'd rather retool/rebuild, and cheer for wins for a team that can actually succeed in something.

if they make it to the third round and make significant noise I will 100 percent take this statement back and take my crow baked, please. but honestly i have better things to do with my time then watch tonight. One thing I've realised recovering for a serious illness is that I have zero patience for crap. these guys burned all their goodwill with me
