I would rather home advantage but I don't think its a big deal

Probably has to do with us being road warriors. I wouldn't mind not having home ice advantage if we had this guy:

Carcillo goes into the top-6 and there's barely a peep.

Boyle gets moved onto the 2nd line and everyone freaks out.

Okay.

Funny thing is he's probably been the best player on that line over the last month or so.

I'd prefer Moore on the 2nd line over any of the other 4th-liners but who knows what will happen. Carcillo scored a goal, maybe Boyle will get 2

We're a great road team, but the Flyers are our *****es at MSG.

Plus having home ice in the playoffs is different than a home game during the regular season. Teams feed off of tier fans and the buildings get electric. No matter how poor the home record is you should still want home ice in the playoffs

Home ice should be their goal right now. Home ice in the playoffs is different than home ice in one game.

Goal: win-out and get home ice as far as they can have it in the playoffs.

Fulfilled a lifelong ambition to see the New York Rangers play at MSG recently when I was over in NY to see the home win against the Phoenix Coyotes, so I'll have to settle for watching the team make the play-offs online.

Just do it!

Watch Detriot beat Pittsburgh and Columbus going all the way to the ECF ;) HIA until the Finals haha

I'm with you KingP, home advantage would be nice, but the goals are the same size in all venues.

And playing in front of your own crowd can work both ways, fans can turn on teams just as well as they can carry them.

Take your protein pills and put your helmets on. Let's ****ing clinch the playoffs. LGR!

You want home ice for one single reason, line matching.

Philadelphia is incredibly top-heavy, and getting McD-Girardi against Giroux as much as possible is incredibly important. There is a reason why the Flyers haven't won at MSG in awhile.

I've never seen the fans turn on the team in the playoffs, no matter how **** the performance

The loss by Philly means Columbus is still within striking range. All it takes is 3 more points by CLB over the last 5 games to overtake them. Far from a foregone conclusion.

add in, they start the Dallas game up 1-0. I don't like the idea of facing the Jackets in the 1st round.

I would think the idea behind not keeping Moore there is that he's the best guy for defensive zone faceoffs, slightly better than Boyle. Even if Moore is moved to C on the 2nd line to take the faceoffs, I don't think AV wants Richards and St. Louis getting as many defensive zone assignments. Boyle is already playing wing, so no loss on his faceoff ability as much as a primary, but it does give that 2nd line another FO man if Richie is thrown out for any reason. And hopefully he can use that big frame to clog up the middle and screen in the O zone and let the skill guys do their thing... if they can find their skills.

I agree, Moore has the most skill to play on the line so I'm just trying to rationalize the move.

Funny thing about Boyle is that he always seems to turn it up a notch 7-10 games before the playoffs start. Then he carries that play over in the playoffs. Very old time hockey of him. It truly annoys me that he can't play this was 82 games a year. I think I would settle for 52 game a year at this point.
