So Boyle will skate directly ahead of St Louis and push all obstacles ahead of him like a runaway semi ?

Love it, it might just work

Carcillo goes into the top-6 and there's barely a peep.

Boyle gets moved onto the 2nd line and everyone freaks out.

Okay.

Funny thing is he's probably been the best player on that line over the last month or so.

I don't really have a problem with Boyle on that line, my issue is moving Moore out of there. I think Moore has been playing really well and looked pretty good there imo.

Exactly..especially with how well he has been playing. I am sure there won't be any hate in the playoffs when he ups his game like he has the past few years.

Enough with the Boyle hate, yeah he shouldn't be on the 2nd line, but none of the options we have should be in the top 6 besides Miller, and obviously that isn't happening. Boyle has been skating well lately, he can take faceoffs, get to the front of the net and cycle the puck.

You forgot singlehandedly abort each and every scoring chance.

Boyle has been fine but both Moore and Dorsett have played bettet; especially offensively.

Don't disagree that Moore has been better, and although I like what Carcillo has brought, Boyle is easily the better player in every facet, sans straight ahead speed.

What about Dorsett? he's been pretty effective

He's definitely been a nice surprise down the stretch. I don't think one has been noticeably better than the other outside of Moore, all four of them seem to play off each other incredibly well, regardless of the line combination.

At this stage, I'd prefer a real winger to be on our 2nd line. Call up a guy like Fasth

Great...

So we'll have:

Hagelin - Stepan - Nash
Boyle - Richards - St. Louis
Pouliot - Brassard - Zuccarello
Carcillo - Moore - Dorsett

Moore - Girardi
Staal - Stralman
Diaz - Klein

Well, to be fair, it could be worse.

I think either Klein needs to move up with Staal, or Staal needs to move up with Girardi... The D is almost too balanced to the point where it's diluted... Of that entire D corp above, the only guys capable of any offense are going to be Staal and Diaz... Not sure if Moore is really capable of making any legitimate offensive threats at this time...

I'd like to see:

Staal-Girardi
Diaz-Stralman
Moore-Klein

Moore and Klein work well together, on top of Staal having a history of playing with Girardi... I think that would make more sense. Stralman is very solid defensively which would allow Diaz to take some chances in the offensive zone

We can be 6 points up on the Flyers AND have the tiebreaker with a win tonight. Flyers would have 5 games left to make up 7 points. Magic number to clinch 2nd and home ice in first round would be 4.

Just get the GD 2 points!

How well Boyle plays as a 4th liner is going to be a lot different from playing with Marty St.Louis + Richards.

I have no idea what's happening. I would not like to see this going into the playoffs where we're juggling 4th line players throughout the lineup to try and find chemistry. Most likely, 4th line players are not going to be able to bring out the best in St.Louis and Richards. This isn't going to work. Unless management has a good idea on Kreider's return and is confident in having him back sooner than later, they should really call someone up but they haven't.

Boyle on the second line? Skating alongside Richards? That's definitely gonna go well :sarcasm: . But seriously, that's an interesting look with Vigneault inserting Boyle as the big guy lumbering in on the forecheck. Just to give the IMPRESSION to the Sens' D that they'll be plastered into the boards by Boyle as incentive to move the puck quicker than they'd like and get forced into turnovers.

Aside from that interesting trio, the Rangers' lines look pretty good going into a possible playoff clincher tonight.

Let's do it, emphatically, with a win tonight, boys!!! :yo:

Why change the lines again? They played very well in Denver. Strange...

I don't know, so far Boyle has been frustrating to watch in any other role than being a 4th liner. I don't exactly expect that to change.
