I remember somebody comparing Fast to Nyquist. I doubt Fast ever has this type of stretch, but why can't he get a chance? How is Carcillo ever a better option?
Fun fact for ya: Rick Nash has yet to get a hat trick with the rangers
I'm going to guess it's because Carcillo is more proven and would hopefully not make the type of rookie mistakes that Fast would be more prone to make.
And that Fast's development would be better served played major minutes in the AHL than 4th line minutes in the NHL.
Edit: I'm really hoping Fast can get his skating back to what it was before he broke his leg. Ola keeps saying it just isn't the same.
So? Shane Doan didn't have his first career hat trick until a couple of seasons ago. Hat tricks are largely meaningless.
Well that's upsetting.

The only meaningfull hattricks are when your defense is poor. I rather have a player scoring 3 GWG's instead of a hattrick.
Which part? The logic behind starting Carcillo over Fast or the fact that Fast's skating isn't where it was before he broke his leg?
The latter.
Shane Doan isn't a goal scorer
