If they turtle again if it's tied late and they get scored on i'm jumping off the Mezzanine level tonight.

I didn't like your post at the thought of your impending suicide but the post did make me laugh out loud.

The wife is getting her hair done tonight so I'll be able to watch the game uninterrupted without any of the obligatory "I need the computer" or "Is this really what we're watching?" comments

I was looking at Dom Luszczyszyn's playoff model and he gives the Flyers an 87% chance to make it but only a 1% chance to win the Cup. Meanwhile he gives the Jackets a 77% chance to make the playoffs and a 4% chance to win the Cup.

Could that be the Bobrovsky factor? As in, if Bob stands on his head, he could theoretically pull them all the way to the SCF?

Both would be my guess.

I'd put money on Columbus going further than the Flyers in the Playoffs too.

They aren't using Manning as their 3D and Filppula as their 2D. That's enough for me right there.

Every team has it's share of strengths and weaknesses. The difference is in knowing how to use both.

True. If anything, the Jackets have collectively underperformed their talent level and have more potential scoring depth than the Flyers, which is huge for 4 rounds of grinding hockey.

I mean, you're talking about him replacing Clarke or Parent. That's an extremely uphill climb from here. I hope he makes it, because he will leave glory in his wake up that hill.

You are probably right. I was sort of disregarding Parent.

Without a cup I think he will be comfortably #3 as long as he has a stable final 6-8 seasons. With a cup he could maybe pass Parent.

I'd take Giroux and Voracek over anyone on their team but their 3-12 forwards are far deeper.

On defense, only Jones is better than Provorov and Ghost, but their bottom 4 as a whole is much better.

Bob is obviously much better than any of our goalies.

Tortorella, clown that he is, looks like Bowman compared to Haktard.

Torts has as many Jack Adams awards as Bowman, so I would not relegate him to the clown category

He's definitely a clown, or at least a toilet face.
NYC seemed to agree (although, the dude looks like a Caps fan) :D

The players will burn to play tonight. Maybe that will back-fire if they play overly agressive, take penalties, and Columbus will gladly take that and convert on the PP.

Claude Giroux is Top Five, no doubt in my mind.

As time goes by people will realize just how good he has been and is likely to continue to be.

He's a case of Philadelphia not knowing how good we have it with our stars and wanting to run them out of towns at points.

And yes, I realize how many good players the Flyers have had.
Disagree. Flyers fans know exactly what Claude Giroux is. To have him compared to guys like Propp and Barber is insane. He's nowhere near the players they were, he's nowhere near the leaders they were. He does not compare favorably to either. He's also nowhere close to top 5 all time, that's also an insanity.

He's basically the best of what we got for this era, which is something but really not much.
