I'm just wondering how she got hantavirus, it's not exactly a common illness.

I heard the mortality rate of hantavirus is between 30 to 50%. I hate to pass judgment on the deceased, but I think she should have considered the possibility that she could pass away prior to him.

Well, we don't know whether she did or not. It just seems that she didn't consider the possibility that she'd do so suddenly and without anyone finding out for weeks, which I don't blame her for.

It's usually transmitted via mouse excrement. Maybe one of the dogs (which are immune to the virus) was eating mouse poop and licked her face or got it on its fur and she petted it and then rubbed her eyes.
