You know... after watching Ovie hammer two home like that, I'm completely disenfranchised with Mika trying to present himself as a threat on the PP in Ovie's spot. It's actually taking away a legitimate set up away from our PP.

All things considered a one goal game against the Caps on the tail end of a back to back is impressive for this roster.

You were saying?

Well. I’m really talking about the theory of defending. Executing is a whole other problem. The Rangers have spent almost no time practicing their PK this season as they try to get their 5v5 game where it needs to be. It’s really not a surprise that their special teams are a big problem right now.

Defenders pressure Mika

I wouldn't let him have it.

Orpik is a drag in the regular season, don't get me wrong, I have cursed his name a thousand times.

But the man is built for the post season and I agree with the assessment that he had a tangible role in our win. He plays hard, stay at home, physical defense and he did it well last year. He can't play a lot of minutes anymore but as a bottom pairing d-man he's one of the better ones in the league for the post season. I think one of the things Orpik does deceivingly well is take away space from his opponent, he's great at making the opposition run out of track or closing out any space they have around them. This is most definitely his last year with us, but I think the biggest issue with the guy was we were paying him $4.5 for bottom pairing production.
$4.5? Lol we’re paying $5.7 for an AHL/ECHL tweener. For 3. More. Years.

They've been leaving him open for years.

I just hate what Zibanejad did there. Instead of corralling the puck, he just spins and throws a rocket to the net with no Rangers there. Kills the offensive zone possession.
